About alligators (read at your own risk) |
|
On CBS news early this evening, one survivor was telling about how people were eaten by alligators.
We were wondering about why we have not heard anything about alligator - too gruesome or not visible for reporters on safe, dry land..

2. several years ago there was a plane crash in Florida |
|
I can't remember which airline, it was one of those discount carriers. Anyway, a lot of the bodies were consumed by alligators at that time.
They're just doing their job as carnivores.

sister was killed in that crash(I can't remember the plane either) and he alluded to stories about that but never actually came right out and said it.

A shipper had packaged some oxygen generators (small cans with chemicals which react with each other to produce oxygen..when this happens, the chemical reaction generates heat.) improperly. One (or maybe several) were triggered shortly after take-off, leading to a fire in the cargo hold which quickly disabled the plane and flight crew.

|
and I said "no, they didn't say anything about alligators in the water." I figured even the alligators wuoldn't swim in that.

7. On CNN, a police officer |
|
who had been stranded in his own apartment, said that people "that far out" of the city center can't swim to find rescue because the alligators are in the water.
He was finally airlifted after 5 days and is back on the job. God bless that man. Back on the job.

21. whats the point of this? |
|
except that in addition to the unbelievable tragedy of this that after wards people will shoot alligators on sight because they heard that they killed N.O. flood victims. I'm sorry but stories like this serve no purpose. The fact that alligators may be feeding on corpses is no more horrifying than the fact that corpses are floating throughout the city in the first place. Its fucking awful, reporting gruesome details of nature's way of dealing with these things adds nothing to the table.

with all the madness in NOLA I seriously doubt gators are going for anyone that can wield a firearm. For gators these are the salad days there are tons of things to scavenge off of. I think most stories of Gators taking live people are mostly bunk. Its horrible but there are tons of dogs/cats that would be much better targets (please don't flood people its awful what the animals of NO are going through just like the people). Its just my opinion that the gator stories ring of the shark story that circulated recently. Shit I lived down there for years there aren't many large gators that aren't farm raised. This isn't Gainesville FL. uggh I've gone off on a tangent on a totally stupid thing. sorry
