From one of my freeper brothers; the other one |
|
is a cop from SC handing out food in Biloxi:
"again I reiterate, how can you expect our gov to plan for a situation this large. I surely cannot imagine over a million peeps without familys displaced. Thousands dead (according to the press). I don't know how anyone could blame the gov. The gov is doing everything it can. Heck, your bro is there now passing out water and rations as we write in the name of the gov. I still feel that if soo many folks hated our gov, why did Pres Bush get more votes than any president in history. I still feel that pres bush is doing all he can to assist with this disaster but it is soo far reaching, that to come up with a plan takes time." Also, So what you are saying is Pres bush should have stopped the war, not started it at all. Even before the war you were finding excuses to hate him... He did this wrong, he did that wrong. I am sick and tired of you liberals undermining what we are doing with our Military and second guessing what the gov is doing. I am sure that the good peeps in the gulf states wanted more money. If you do the research, you will find that the same moneys have been going to the levy project. What they are complaining about is that there was no escalation of funds. That money was used to protect our troops that are in harms way.
He's clueless and believes this admin can do no wrong. How do I knock some sense into his thick head, or is it really hopeless? BTW, he's a retired Coastie. :wtf:

2. Ask him what he'd say if this was Clinton |
|
I'm sure he'd be blaming Clinton all over the place. Since he's there he should ask some of the survivors what they think.

Um, well, when all the experts said over and over that it was likely to happen.
I vote "hopeless".

7. there was a thread on how to reply to these dead enders |
|
with a number of responses to give them before just not talking to them anymore. the one I liked best was:
"Who are you trying to convince, me or yourself?"
He's lost. He probably won't even get that one line answer. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

8. So, according to him, we must protect our troops over there, but not our |
|
citizens at home? The money should have been provided to fix the levees. Period. This was a predicted and preventable tragedy. Bush needs to be impeached.

large voter turnout. Funny thing is many of the ones who voted for him were convinced that he would keep them safe. He has cut so many programs that he can't keep this country afloat in times of natural disaster or terrorist attack. The levey's should have been a priority. They are responsible for 25 pct of our crude, 80 pct of our natural gas, and shipping lanes. The terrorist didn't need to attack we did ourselves in. They are laughing their asses off at us as is the rest of the world. Big tough USA. Not to mention the loss of wetlands that has been allowed under this administration is responsible for this disaster. That erosion has cost us natures levies and increased warming of the water. That has increased the severity of the hurricanes. Wait until the next one hits his state.

14. "If you do the research..." |
|
Sounds like he heard that as a talking point on Fox, and is trying to pass it off like he actually did the research himself?
Others include:
"how can you expect our gov to plan for a situation this large..." Who should we expect to plan for them then?
"That money was used to protect our troops that are in harms way. WOW! Really? You mean with things ilke armored humvees, and bullet proof vests? That money went to Halliburton and they wouldn't be in harm's way if his beloved president hadn't put them there.
I really think the problem is that they just are AFRAID that they will look like fools if they admit that they were wrong about *.

he's wrong about the 'same money going to the levee project'. You could start by telling him that Bush cut the funding for the levee project despite all the information about how important it was.
He broke up FEMA and installed as its head, a man who had been fired for incometency from his previous job with an Arabian Horse training company.
That same man was already under fire for corruption and misappropriation of FEMA funds ~ over $12 million dollars going to 'snow and ice' care in Florida??? He said it was a mistake!!
The war was based on lies, almost everyone knows this now ~ does he think that we should let presidents just lie about matters of such importance? Or do we only impeach them when they lie about sex?
Yeah, he's lost or hasn't been paying attention. Bush is one man. Thousands of his fellow citizens are dead because of negligence on the part of the Federal Government. Why is he so concerned about just another citizen who will never go without food or water, no matter how he screws up?

16. I am totally baffled by people like your brother. However I have |

been meaning to re-read The God That Failed, about intellectuals in the West who refused to accept the brutal facts about Stalin and what happened when they couldn`t delude themselves any longer. I think you may find this sheds light on your brother.
