Looks like this storm's going to hit (we're watching, my NC friends) Now, here's what I'm wondering: are Bush/Brownie gonna it kick into high gear and make a fine showing of helping and supplying and delivering and such, OR, are they going to be galavanting about the country presenting cakes and strumming their geetars and waiting to hear from "their sources" that indeed a hurricane has struck mainland USA? Really, now, aren't they screwed either way? If they make a good showing, why, it'll be pretty obvious that they considered the New Orleans/Gulf Coast less than worthy of their finest efforts and attention, and if they screw around again and wait a few days before figuring out that a hurricane has struck once more, why then, that'll be a hard one to spin, eh?

the state & local govts have kicked their own ER into HIGH gear after learning they canNOT rely on the feds for jacksh*t.
At least, I hope so. Maybe I should give Easley's office a call....
