You know what thought scares me the most I'll tell you
I know it's very conspiracy theory-ish but the thought that sometimes just makes me sit up quick is the idea that if the bush policy continues unobstructed is that when is some or a group of powerful countries going to unite and just say "enough's enough" and actually invade us or worse nuke or start bombing a major city citing "hey you fucking Americans thought it was okay to do this to Iraq what makes you exempt?"

I love this country and I'd die defending it if such an invasion were to take place as I'm sure anybody would (you wouldn't have a choice really) but really I love this country and this great experiment I don't care what the far left or right says we have so much potential to do so much good and it keeps getting fucked up by flat earthers and maniacs and the thought of us becoming this hated by other nations or eventually having all our friends say "you know what fuck off we tried to help you we tried to warn you but you decided to invent "freedom fries" instead.

I'd like to think with Bush's sinking poll numbers eventually please if there is a God I hope before 2008 we see the people of America (at least the vast majority of them) screaming for Bush to either step down and/or step into an orange federal prison jumpsuit.

It really is the only way I think we can avoid that John Carpentar like scenario that I described above.

2. You've clearly nailed the source of why I started this thread
Russia and China the first two words/nations that came to my mind when I started having these thoughts.

3. Military might is not needed to tame the American beast ...

The rest of the world would unite under an economic coalition, stand aside and simply watch us spend ourselves into oblivion.

Think back to the demise of the USSR.

5. true but at some point
we might be seen as an animal who suffers.......might we be put out of our misery?

Look at how fast we're going down hill, at this rate it's only a matter of time before we havent much to offer. And a "once powerful" nation with nothing left to offer is...well......bothersome.

4. nobody has any interest in invading or attacking the US
unless the US would declare a major war on "powerful countries"

the way the US is acting now is so self-destructive, that the enemies of the US put just a little oil on the fire...

Even if some organisations would like to hit the US again, the major powers see always to their primary interests - and they are not world domination, but succesfull trade. A weakened US is only good for that in the short perspective but not for a long one. The ideal situation is a rich but not dominating USA.
