I hope Bush's Thurtsday speech is as inspiring as today's UN one |
|
The same-old-same-old, wrapped in a laundry list of tired platitudes and pseudo-initiatives that nobody's buying anymore.
If he's as good at inspiring and reassuring the country in his post-Katrina speech, then the curtain of illusion will really have been removed from the Wizard of Oz.

2. Expect his numbers to drop afterwards. |
|
This country no longer trusts him. Every time he opens his mouth now, people assume he's lying and it pisses them off.

3. Any speech in which he does not utter the statement "I resign" is the |
|
same old, same old. He cannot come up with anything new and does not understand what is written for him to read with anything other than his complete lack of emotion about the world around him. All he can do is smirk and continue.

6. Does anyone listen to speeches anymore in this day and age.... |
|
a speech is just filled with flowery rhetoric or remarks to inflame people. They no longer serve a purpose. Does anyone in the world really care what bush has to say anymore. They have already heard it since 9/11/01.

8. Unfortunately, Bush's speeches immediately post 9-11 were... |
|
...largely responsible for rallying most of the country behind him enough to overlook his actual performance in response to 9-11.
If Bush somehow found that same "voice" and the media decide to become poodles, he could still come out of this being portrayed as a strong leader.
Never underestimate....etc.
