Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends.
I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.
These companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell.............................. 205,742,000 barrels Chevron/Texaco............ 144,332,000 barrels Exxon /Mobil................. 130,082,000 barrels Marathon/Speedway...... 117,740,000 barrels Amoco (BP)........................... 62,231,000 barrels
If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $55-$60 a barrel)
Here are some large companies that Do Not import Middle Eastern oil:
Citgo (Venezuala) ............... 0 barrels Sunoco................ 0 barrels Conoco................ 0 barrels Sinclair................ 0 barrels BP/Phillips........... 0 barrels Hess.................... 0 barrels ARC0................... 0 barrels
** NOTE: did this guy know Citgo was owned by Venezuala?

Their whole business is separating truth from fiction, if they didn't get it right they'd be out of business.

8. How About Their Political Ties And Influences |
|
I refuse to do any business with Exxon/Mobil due to their predatory credit card practices. Several people I know ended up having their credit records really messed up by missing a payment and, without any notice, red flags were placed on all the credit reporting services. One friend found out while trying to close on a house...what a nice little surprise when he found out the "dispute" was he underpayed by $10 on his revolving balance.
I'm more concerned with the political power and money these companies pump into both parties. Also, who are their pets...who gets the most money and compare that to their voting records.
Since there are few Citgo stations in my area and none of the other stations on the bottom part of your list, the one I "prefer" from the top group is Marathon...since this is still the most independent of those other companies. The local station is owner/operated and one of the few full service places left.
