Sorry if this has already been discussed..But I am just now getting to sit down and watch the news. They are giving the evacuees from Katrina that are in Texas now a ONE WAY tickets to Arkansas? Barbara Bush outta be happy. Thats one way to get them out of there huh? (sarcasm)

It's not like the refugee shelters are their homes; it's where they're staying until they're provided with homes. It doesn't much matter where they wind up finding apartments, if they're going back to NOLA afterwards; and if they're not going to return to NOLA, I'm not sure that Houston vs. Arkansas makes a big difference. Why uproot them for a week, fly them to Arkansas to stay in a shelter, and then return them to shelters in a city that's just recovering from a severe storm, esp. if the housing stock in Houston's been hit hard? That makes little sense.
They were originally provided with one-way passage to Houston and Dallas, with few complaints.
Houston's likely to have its own refugees, as well as those from nearer the coast, within a few days. We need the room, unless you think that it's a sound policy to have NOLA refugees housed in Houston, and Galveston refugees housed in Arkansas.
