So how much more fuel will Bush waste trying to restore his "swagger" |
I thought his message to America was that we should find more ways to conserve fuel and energy. Anyone care to take a guess at how much fuel Bush uses in these useless "assessments of hurricane damage?" And to what end? To prove or to give the illusion that he is in control and that anything he sees he will be able to comprehend? What a waste! He sounds more ignorant and out of touch every time he opens his mouth. It is really embarrassing.

2. WE'RE supposed to conserve fuel. |
HE doesn't have to because, well, he's rich and powerful and "working hard." It's hard work being prez and requires a lot of flying around to show how much in control he is. We're just unimportant peons who don't really need to go anywhere.

5. For starters, there's AF1. |
A B747-200 burns about. 3,300 gal/hr. A 3-hour flight from DC to Texas would use about 10,000 gallons, at maybe $1.65/gal. = $16,500 worth of fuel. That would be $33,000 in fuel costs for a round trip. Fuel conservation... suuure.

It's almost as if Bush is trying to teach America a lesson for complaining about his shitty photo ops during Kartrina...he's going to give us better photo ops, all over, screwing up relief efforts and wasting time and fuel until we beg him to take another month's vcation.
