Face it, the dems failed big time! |
|
Davis was a total failure,, he could have resigned at the begginning ending all of this early, but his ego would not allow it. The dems then attemted to terminate Swartz by paying dirty pool, all is fair in politics but... The scandle that we saw last weekend was timed too late, it was a all or nothing type gamble and it failed. With a scandle like that you need a buffer zone of time in case things go bad, which they did. Now it's nothing but backlash against Davis.

3. Here is what the CA Dems should do. |
|
The legislature needs to pass campaign finance reform to get the goddamned money out of the elections and then send the bill to Arnold. I think it's their only hope.

I feel the dirt was not really part of it. Davis' aproval rating was at 27% (something close to that) 6 months ago. I don't care how hard you fight, it is nearly impossible to win coming off numbers like that. It wasn't becasue Davis was a democrat. The same thing would happen if a republican was in office with the almost universal disapproval that David had. Voters wanted a change and Arnold was one of the only choices. I'm sure we would be congratulating governor-elect Feinstein if she had chosen to run.

5. Davis resigning would not have stopped the recall |
|
Don't jump on the blame democrats bandwagon. That democrats are so willing to eat their own, is why we always lose.

The dems had nothing what so ever to do with what was coming out about shit for brains last week. He did it to himself by wronGfully touching women, and having sex with a minor. And those women were speaking out against the perverted pig! Rightly so.
If you want to blame anyone for losing CA tongiht, then blame all those blind women, who voted for the asshole, and then blame all the rest who voted for him as well. They should have thought back to what CA was like when Reagan was gov.

1. Davis was a total failure
Nope. Bushonomics failed. 48/50 states are running huge deficits. Enron boned California pretty damn thoroughly, thanks to Pete Wilson. Should he have seen it coming, and done more to prepare? Maybe.
2. he could have resigned at the begginning ending all of this early
Gaining nothing whatsoever. In fact, that would have put Bustamante in position as "top dog", and you can see how well he did in the head to head with der gropenator.
3. but his ego would not allow it
Common sense would forgo it as well.
4. The dems then attemted to terminate Swartz by paying dirty pool
You mean, women came forth with stories of Arnold's groping hobby, many of which had been aired before he entered the race anyway?
5. The scandle that we saw last weekend was timed too late
*shrug* I'm not at all convinced it was "timed" in any sense, but if I were running a smear campaign it would have started BEFORE the absentee ballots went out. Are the Democratic party strategists paid to pick their lint? If any of the allegations lead to an indictment, then it could mean an impeachment or bode well for another recall.
6. With a scandle like that you need a buffer zone of time in case things go bad, which they did
Things went bad from the moment Mr. Issa turned California into a madcap free-for-all circus. Rather than concentrating on solving crucial state budget issues, the state has engaged in a ridiculous and costly extra election.
7. Now it's nothing but backlash against Davis
Sure, he's the media's whipping boy.
