Do you suppose Bush may pull out of Iraq? |
|
After all, they have all the no bid contracts for United States of Halliburton disasters..... Maybe they have decided they can make more money here from our own natural disasters? Maybe he will announce that after the (cough) election in Iraq, he will pull out?
Not that he wouldn't go into Iran, Syria, etc., but he would be stupid enough to think he could regain support if he did pull out. Mission Accomplished was like 2 years ago?? Maybe he is demented enough to think he can do a photo-op of a few GI's coming home and claim we are withdrawing?
Maybe he plans to pull out and then go back in?

The permanent bases they've built over there so far are clear indications we are there for good. Why would they invest so much money and our kids' blood and most of important (to them), their pride to then just pull out? Their distain towards the American people is obvious. They care for other people in the world even less. They don't care what we think. They are getting richer and richer every month, especially when no one makes a fuss about 8 billion missing here, another billion missing there. Just have the media call us left wing radicals and that'll shut us up. Unfortunately, that's been working.

8. Permanent Bases Were Always the Point |
|
There was a long cover article in The Atlantic six months before the invasion, the premise of which was: Since the Saudis have become undependable, where else can the US go to set up permanent bases to protect its oil interests in the Gulf region? The answer was and is obvious -- Iraq. Home of the world's SECOND largest confirmed oil reserves.
The Bushies want the oil. To get it, they need the bases. To get the bases, they needed an invasion. To get the invasion, they needed an excuse. To get an excuse, they used Colin Powell to lie to the world.
It's so incredibly obvious.

Whats the point? Base in hostile territories makes good targets and worst everytime you go out you be a shooting duck. Man talk abou longterm torture.

13. Bases in Hostile Territory |

I don't think I share your premise. US bases in hostile countries have served us well in the past, and continue to. Guantanamo (I'm not defending the sh*t they've done there lately) has been very useful for 100 years.
If one believes in a strong overseas defense (which I know is controversial within the ranks of the DU faithful), one must grant the necessity of overseas bases on hostile territory.

Beginning in the Summer of 2006, long enough prior to the elections to attempt to turn around American sentiments, I predict a significant troup reduction. It will be heralded with the fanfare of photoOps and family reunions.
Bush will then probably call to increase troups back to Iraq after the election, and blame it on the "Generals".
It's politics 102 the Rove way. Use war and all it offers for political ends.
You are very astute!

next few weeks....because then it will be very hard to pull troops out without jeopardizing those left behind. Does Bush want to risk a slaughter of his own troops?
I read yesterday in the foreign press that the British forces may very well face the danger of being DRIVEN OUT or overrun by the insurgents. Can you imagine that??

9. You're right, that Bush doesn't have the kind of control he |

would need to hold us off until next summer. So yeah....there's your fly.
In reference to whether Bush would risk the slaughter of his own troops? Doh...yeah-A! He doesn't give a rat's ass about that so much it seems.

That and other plundering of the treasury is what his administration is all about. All indications are that they are looking for ways to expand their "forward operations" despite the fact that the wheels are coming off. I have no doubt that they have contingency plans for the worst case scenario for the Fritz indictments.
No. This is the mob on steroids. They have no intention of giving an inch of their territory ie their mission of total global domination, regardless if a "boss" or two go down.
