Bo Dietl (big bush fan) ripped junior apart on Imus this morning.
Bo Dietl, Imus' pal, ripped into bush about the war and the numbers of our soldiers dead and wounded. Apparently his friend's son (or nephew?) just lost his leg in a battle. Dietl was one of the biggest supporters of bush and the war and Imus kept saying, "We told you so"...I actually thought Laura would turn on junior before Dietl did, so it was nice to see this flip. Of course, once BD gets going, it's hard to shut him up, so Imus let him rant on and he got into the hurricane and Brown and Halliburton, etc. etc. until I thought his head would explode. Complete turn-around for this former bushie fan.

6. I used to listen to anus on my way to work
until all the stations around here canceled him. I always turned the sound down when Dietl cam on because he pissed me off so much. Finally I quit listening altogether when anus got fixated on his "ranch" and talking about his stupid kid. Obviously dietl is on to say provocative things to the dumbshito-Americans but I'm also surprised at this turnaround. Bet it don't last...

16. Bo won't break camp with the neocons yet I'm sure
I never liked Imus after his big Clinton put down of years ago. I have indulged him from time to time when Msrnc puts him in my face in the morning. Sometimes he is OK, but his staff is nothing but pukes. rush and hannity types. Bo normally sucks, but when the bombs get a little too close to the neocons, they do tend to wake up.
Welcome to DU BTW!

2. Sorry for your nephew's loss, Mr. Dietl
But now perhaps he has a glimpse of what so many other people have lost, which makes a nephew getting his leg shot off (while traumatic, no doubt about it) seem like pretty small beer.

Empathy is not their strong suit.

4. Isn't it interesting but totally predictable that these guys
don't have a change of heart until someone they know/love/are related to is wouded or dies. They can't visualize/feel/predict destruction/devastation until it happens. Visualize pain you assholes. Visualize pain, then maybe, just maybe you will be human.

NOLA people were starving. He said "we need to take care of our own first".

10. Didn't he run some detective agency/security service?
It just came to me. He had some bodyguard thing going on and I'll bet he got aced out of the big bucks in Iraq and that's why he's pissed. The nephew thing sounds noble but this guy is enough of a reptile that I'm reluctant to credit him with any degree of human empathy.

9. I heard that! I so rarely listen to IMUS that I didn't know about BD's
previous support for B*, other than IMUS's stating 'I told you so' about the War. He did not appear to have been even a former supporter of B*! Did you hear IMUS's remark about the eye make-up on SCOTUS nominee? (If someone could come up with the exact quote, I'd appreciate it...It was priceless. Something like 'she's gotta drop some of that eye make-up. Looks like Tammy Baker!')

11. One of the reasons I totally stopped listening
to Imus was because of Dietl. I couldn't stand listening to his pro war, pro * rants. I am really surprised he has turned on him. But then again as others mention, it has hit him personally. Different now, eh Bo?

12. Honestly, I had my thumb on the recall button of my remote as soon
as Imus said, "Welcome now to the program Bo Dietl," and I was about to push it when I heard BD say "I'm very upset with bush this morning." And my mind said, "Huhhhhhhhhhh???????????" So I had to stick around and find out why, and it was quite the rant. I'm telling you, if he has turned, there really is hope for the rest of them. Never in my wildest dreams.

19. This is what it takes?
So it takes a relative losing a major limb for this clown to see the truth?

The last 12,000 casualties and 2,000 deaths didn't do it? It has to affect him personally before he comes out against the war?

Conservatives: "If it doesn't affect me personally, then I don't care."
