I know there's no changing them, |

but how the FUCK did people like this get to be the way they are?!??
Some idiot sent me the 'George Carlin is a bad American and so am I' crap and I sent a reply all talking about how if you can't be bothered to check the facts on some petty little rant about this, what other things are you willing to send if you don't know the truth behind them. It's my opinion that if you're okay with sending something this cheesy out when you can't even be bothered with knowing the true author, you're probably okay with forwarding on just about anything without even *considering* if it's true or not, or what facts there are to either back up or debunk the stuff you send. Here's his response to my reply all:
"OK, let me help out with this line of thought. First off, I don't know what type of email program you are using. I will assume that, whatever it is, it has two buttons at the top. One says "Reply" and the other says "Reply All." Please don't use the "Reply All" button when you are going to berate the sender as you did. That sends the same message to all of the people who were in the original address list. That means that you are sending the same insulting response to everyone. Those people don't know you and sure did not deserve to get insulted. OK?
Secondly, I know that those people who I sent the email to are really not going to care if George Carlin said this stuff or not. It could have said Ted Nugent or Billy Crystal, they don't care. It makes no difference to them as it is not the speaker of the message that is important. It is the message itself. George Carlin is a left wing liberal and I KNOW that he would not say that. I didn't care. The only person who responded at all like that was you.
If you really think that having errors in a message equates to "spreading lies," perhaps you should spend more time checking the facts that you send out. Having harmless messages sent out does not equate to spreading lies. I would be more concerned with the message being a lie if there was intent to decieve. The fact is that I expected nobody to care who actually said it. I am surprised at the acid in your response. I really hope your life is not that distressing that such an email elicits all that angst.
I spend a lot of time communicating with people on both sides of the political spectrum. I can tell from your statements that you are far left on that scale. I suspect that you spend time with such sites at MoveOn.org and other "far left" places. I would recomment you check on the "facts" that they present. I could easily have responded in kind to some of the emails you sent out about "checking facts and speading lies."
IF the author of a circulated point of view is more important to you than the view itself, I will try to remember that. IF George Carlin was running for office, I would not have sent the email the same way I recieved it. Then the author's name would have been important.
Peace, Ma'am."
I fucking HATE douchebags like this. It's morans like him that got * selected; twice. :banghead:

1. If you hit "reply all" you did a good thing. |

They all deserve to know what you think.

3. If he doesn't care who said it... |
|
and he thinks that his recipients don't care, thgen why send it out in the first place? Then, why get his panties in a twist when it's debunked? Furthermore, why the impulse to write a 5 paragraph filibuster about how he doesn't care, and that you are a "far left liberal who reads Move On" (as if that's a bad thing)?
Nerve hitting really brings out the crybabies, doesn't it?

4. These people make my head hurt. |
|
His point seems to be that he's entitled to send any bogus info he wants to whoever he wants but he's somehow immune from being called on it publicly?

6. yep, that's how I took it |

moran.
I've debunked 2 or 3 that he's sent me this week. (I love snopes because I'm no good at pulling facts myself) Guess he finally got tired of being told he's wrong. Sad thing is, I've never met this guy. He's the son of my grandpa's long time girlfriend. Last election, I told him 3 times to quit emailing me because he had no facts, and no respectful way of refusing to get facts, and I got tired of his shit. Well, the emails quit for awhile, but with Katrina they've been back worse than ever.
