Stop making fun of the NY terror alert--- it may be real |
|
I think it was on 60 minutes but NYC has it own ppl outside of the country looking for problems that may hit NYC.
NYC does not IMHO trust the WH/CIA/FBI/etc
So this lastest alert may be REAL.

Thanks for explaining.

Which sickens me when I think that Bloomberg will be re-elected by New York so that Republicans can continue to fuck over New York.

An absolutely proven fact. I'm no tinfoil hatter (strictly aluminum for me), but the whole official BandAid job pasted over 9/11 is just too full of holes for me - I think maybe they have done it before, even if one doesn't count 9/11.

but my husband and I (and many of my friends) live in NYC, and we're all taking it seriously. We have to take the subway tomorrow, but we're going to be vigilant about it. Keep our eyes peeled and stuff.
Make fun of it all you want, but for those of us who live here, it's a real threat. No matter who it comes from.

After leaving his position at Homeland Security, Tom Ridge acknowledged that the post 9/11 terror alerts were often based on "flimsy evidence" and that he had been pressured by the CIA to raise the threat level:
The Bush administration periodically put the USA on high alert for terrorist attacks even though then-Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge argued there was only flimsy evidence to justify raising the threat level… Ridge .he often disagreed with administration officials who wanted to elevate the threat level to orange, or "high" risk of terrorist attack, but was overruled.
"More often than not we were the least inclined to raise it…Sometimes we disagreed with the intelligence assessment. Sometimes we thought even if the intelligence was good, you don't necessarily put the country on (alert). ... There were times when some people were really aggressive about raising it, and we said, 'For that?' " (USA Today , 10 May 2005)

They pulled this bullshit during the election. Every time Kerry had a rally or speech, a terror alert happened. This is total and complete CRAP. IMCPO

I agree with you. However, my understanding -- and I could be wrong, but I don't think so -- is that some from the administration down-played this. The NYC police has a huge budget, larger than many states, and they have information that I believe will prove that the federal government has failed to invest the funds to keep us safe. I'm not advocating moving towards a police state. But there are common sense steps that can be taken, and the Bush administration has failed. Just absolutely failed! And I feel that the clown's speech today will cause a reaction that we don't need.

This clown in the White House isn't funding the things he should be. Robert Kennedy Jr's sister Rory did a heck of a report on the Indian Point nuclear power plant up the river from the city; it's been on HBO recently. Robert's book "Crimes Against Nature" addresses the risks posed to NYC by the Kuehne Chemical Company. The federal government hasn't done shit.
Anyone who reads Imperial Hubris will appreciate that we face a real threat. This administration is not helping keep America safe.

a real honourable authority would know that the vast numbers who depend upon the public transit must use it regardless of threat, so any real threat the authority became aware of it would do whatever it could to prevent anything happening while keeping the 'public' alert to police/emergency and so on.....the simple fact is the 'public' can't do anything regards a terror threat except worry and be ready to panic etc, so the 'authority' wouldn't waste time frightening the 'public'....all public transit, all the time, are under threat, not from unemployed waiters who think allah's want blood but from the same jackassses who 1) carted away the evidence from the destroyed wtc site 24/7 w/out regards to cost or anything 2) hid the news that 4 separate military type exercises were going on at exactly the same time the 19 arabs actually hijacked the 4 jets etc- the government has to this day never explained the peculiar idea that they were practising for a wtc attack when the wtc was attacked....years later, in london, the same thing happened....a exercise involving bombings at certain stations was being carried out when the stations were...sacre blue! bombed!) 3)- the 18181 vote wins in 3 different congressional races in the '02 elections...how did that happen? and why did the pigmedia ignore it happening? 4) why are the media such pigs? a former education secretary under reagan says 'if blacks were aborted, there'd be no crime' etc, yet the most noticeable reaction on part of the pig is ..ho hum. etcetera ad nazism... the real danger to life limb of ordinary people comes from the oinkocracy in washington...and their pets bush and company (all cia does)

if nobody DID point out this threat (and that's all it is thus far... a threat of violence) and something DID happen, nobody would led NYC leaders forget it.
I don't care about the rest of my government, but if there is ANY threat made against my city, I want OUR leader to step up to the plate and make us aware of that threat.

terror threat, shmerror threat, the fact remains the bush government routinely lie to the american people, and the pigmedia spares no expense promulgating the lies.....there were never any wmd's in iraq: the very idea that iraq, a 3rd world country just a few generations free of colonialism, threatens the usa is stupid, and always was stupid. If even a fraction of the suspicion and worry people waste on iraq and islamic terrorists was applied to the bush government, then everybody would be safer....much of modern islamic terrorism (did you know 'hamas' is the brainchild of the israeli ss?) has been organized and nurtured by the brit/american sneaky fukkers aka the cia kgb etc, yet they have never been forced to explain this (and noone knows how deeply involved the kgb/cia is in the post-ussr islamic terror networks, though one would think, if 'safety was the concern, that's the very first thing to look at)...a massive explosion in italy that killed 80 or so people in the 70's was a kgb/cia plot: there were several horrific bombings in beirut that we know now were the work of the cia. And speaking of terror, the only ones to gain from the 911 event was/is the same jokers who gain from the illegal war in iraq., and the same pigs who publicise fake threats on public transit

All is quiet for a long time, then the Terra-ists JUST HAPPEN to make a move on the afternoon of the SAME DAY that bushyboy tries to get us all worked up and fraidy-scared?
Sorry, but no. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm about the least likely of anyone to get into conspiracy-theory stuff, but this one is just TOO blatantly "coincidental" (and ham-fistedly obvious to boot), for it to be anything but a lame Rovian concoction.

The problem with BushCo is that the fake warnings will look exactly like the real one when it comes.
