Fighting for the "little guy. It's just not "financially viable" anymore. |

Am I alone in feeling that ALL american politicians are bought and paid for?
If I am, please give me examples.

Never say all about anything. Some are not. I give you Howard Dean, Granholm of Michigan, Conyers. Most are bought and paid for just like the rethugs. Wish it were not so.

3. Don't know about ALL but certainly "ALL that are elected". IMO, some |

special interest groups with deep pockets finance candidates from both major parties. Then when their bills come up, they have bipartisan support. That's a useful PR gimmick to fool some/most of the public.

4. It's a matter of degree. |
|
After a certain level, our campaign finance system requires politicians to raise large amounts of money if they want to be viable candidates. For this reason, I think it is safe to say that none or almost none of our federal or statewide politicians is completely untainted by the system.
But they approach the system with varying levels of ... um ... how should I say ... enthusiasm. Some would trade any favor for a campaign contribution. But others actually do try very hard to navigate the ethical mess and stay as clean as possible.
Unfortunately, I think it's extremely difficult, and it's getting harder every year.

5. Holy Cow! I'm honored you decided to see you chip in here! |

And I most certainly agree with your discaimer at the end of your post.
I guess what I am trying to state in the OP is that we need to re-examine our current policies because they negate so many of the truly qualified people to lead our country through the economic policies of today's politics.

That sometimes happens when I show up, so maybe it's not such an honor after after all. LOL. Sorry about that.
