Does any of you truly believe that Rove didn't tell B about the leak? |
|
or at least Wilson's wife name and role?
It's really hard to believe that Rove is that loyal to B that he will knowingly no tell B something in case it leaks in the future and Rove wants to make sure B doesn't get into hot waters.
I just can't believe Rove is THAT loyal and protect B that much...

5. I just can buy it at all. If Rove didn't tell B, then B is the real idiot |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 07:53 PM by Seansky
we have always thought he was and is just a puppet being used for "greater" goals.
I believe Rove told him and B is still a puppet.
On Edit: CAN'T BUY IT AT ALL

2. Yes, because it was Bush who told Rove |
|
when he called him from Air Force 1 on the way to Africa.

3. I can't believe he's that loyal and protective... |
|
But I can believe that Rove wouldn't tell Bush, simply because it wouldn't cross his mind. Why tell Bush? Why not let the adults handle these matters?
That sort of reasoning.

6. yeah, that's the only way I could come close to believing Rove |
|
didn't tell him...If that is the case, then B is just the puppet they needed to carry out their agenda.

7. I thought it was even weird |
|
that the AP and then MSNBC would consider it a "news' story; the 'Whitehouse' said Rove didn't tell Bush, DUH, why should one more perdictable lie be news? I hope the indicments come soon.

I think Barney has plausible deniability. Karl never tells Barney anything. Barney is just a poor, sad little out-of-the loop dog who spends most of his life hiding from the sadistic humans around him.

12. Bush is known for holding a grudge and getting even. |
|
I believe he's been in on the plot since it was hatched. His whole family retaliates when they're crossed. He would definitely be in the know and probably helped with the planning.

13. Like all crime bosses, Bush isn't explicitly told anything. |
|
Nor does he ask. He has given Rove reason to believe that he wishes dirty tricks done, leaves the details to Rove, and when Rove is caught, will deny all knowledge.
Of coure, this sort of deniability doesn't work when Bush is under a duty to actually ASK Rove, and indeed, ASK everyone in the WH.
By waiting to see who gets convicted and by not conducting an investigatino, Bush has shown that he is willing to let a traitor work for him for years. That's one fact established even if nobody is indicted: Bush doesn't care if he starts every day with a security leak in the Oval Offices, as long as the leaker attacks on his behalf. Worst. President. Ever.

|
The interesting thing, though, is if Rove's case goes to trial, will Fitz call Bush as a witness for the prosecution?

"Mr. President, please understand that I am not telling you I made any leaks."
"OK, I understand. You didn't make any leaks."
"Ah, er, Mr. President, I didn't say that. I said I'm not telling you I made any leaks."
"Oh, I get it now. You DID make some leaks."
"George! Let's pretend we didn't have this chat."
"OK, Karl, if you say so."
"I do say so. I mean, I didn't say. Oh fuck."
