The lower number just shows that DUers are smarter than most by blocking their crap from their PC's.

Here's an article some woman wrote about it messing up her system. Google Alexa for more.

http://www.barbarabrabec.com/homebiz/computer_Alexa_IE_crashproblem.htm

As I write this, I’m thinking about how upset I would have been if I’d taken Gateway’s advice to reformat my hard drive. The fellow at Gateway told me he was a "real pro" and, in his experience, problems with IE always meant having to reformat and completely reinstall the whole operating system again. But if you ever get this advice from a Gateway technician, I suggest you consult with a technician at The Digiticians first, and let them do an online check of your system. Having used this service several times, I know that it could save the average computer user a ton of aggravation and stress, lots of time, and cost as little as $20-$60 to solve most problems. (Read about my personal experience with The Digiticians here.)

I'm sure many are going to write to me saying there is nothing wrong with the Alexa toolbar, that it's proving to be a profitable affiliate program for you, and that it couldn't possibly have been the reason for my problems with Internet Explorer and my system lockups. There is quite a bit of discussion on Internet forums about IE crashes. (Just type "Internet Explorer crashes" in the Google search engine to turn them up. See below for some I found of interest.) From reading some of posts, I gather there are a score of things that can crash Internet Explorer, but so far, I haven't found any discussion thread that says the Alexa Toolbar is one of them. All I know for sure is that my computer problems started only after I downloaded this toolbar, and disappeared as soon as I got rid of it.

If you like the Alexa toolbar and want to push it on others, be my guest. I'd like to generate extra income, but this is one affiliate program I'm not going to push on MY readers because I don't like to be spied on and I'm sure they don't either. More important, if this caused me IE problems, it may be a problem for other computer users, too.

2. yup, Alexa is spyware
Alexa is one of the most common sources of anti-spware proggie alerts. Alexa is NOT to be trusted...run a search and see why.
