3. I'm not understanding this either |

They are also requiring people who have lost their homes and their jobs to pay anywhere from $7k to $15k for heavy machinery to clear their lots of debris. THAT is how they will get the land from the poor in some areas. They city will end up comdemning it for debris because there isn't any way these people could afford to pay that. We had an ice storm here a few years back. We were without power for weeks. Trees were down EVERYWHERE! Our city hired companies to come in and haul the debris off. All you had to do was put it in a pile or contact the city if you weren't able, and then this company hauled them off. It took almost a year, but it was finally all cleaned up at the expense of the taxes already paid to the city.

5. New FEMA plan / a la Libertarian Vol Fire groups (sarcasm) |
|
Under a new plan which the * administration says will"assure a timely response to deserving communities" FEMA will offer immediate and pre-arranged aid to communities which have "Pre-reimbursed" FEMA for the aid. Everyone else is SOL.

7. That's easy enough to answer. |

Because they are Americans, that's why.
Americans may very well be the hardest working people in the world; but they have low expectations and a diminished sense of self-worth.
They do not demand free and open elections, allowing themselves to be ruled by a corrupt oligarchy determined to screw them out of whatever pittance they manage to earn from their multiple jobs and transfer it through tax breaks to their betters, the wealthiest one percent of the country.
Unlike other peoples of the world, Americans are willing to live with no national health insurance and a "safety net" most third world countries would find embarrassing.
But they take great pride in the muscle-bound, corrupt military-industrial complex which is bankrupting their nation, taking delight in being known as "The World's Only Superpower," able to rain death and destruction on any people on earth, if not actually establish effective control over their captives.
As long as they are happy, those governing wisely follow W.C.Field's directive, "Never give a sucker a break."
