Talked to Dean about paper ballots today! |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 12:08 AM by peabody71
I attended the Dean rally at Arizona State. I waited to chat with him afterward and got the opportunity to mention 'real election reform with paper ballots'. I also mentioned that I was the Founder of Pollwatch. He said 'good, good'. All while knowing he has stated that we are 'conspiracy theorists'.
He seemed overall willing to support paper ballots. In fact when I asked if he did he said 'yes I do', quite a few times. So I continued to tell him that it was 'the only way he could be elected'. Recieved a blank stare with that one.

3. He has recieved the BBV study in his hand |
|
at least twice from DUers. Once by me. The campaign is up on this issue. Quite frankly, let's face it, in the world away from DU, this story is so freaky sounding that conspiracy theorist is the first thing that springs to mind.
I'm pretty sure the plan counts on this. Its just unbelievable in its evilness, don't you think?

5. You probably got a blank stare because you claim to know the future |
|
You don't have to make such claims to sell paper ballots which makes you not a good salesman.

8. Gold stars for you Peabody**** |
|
You created more positive ripple flow today by naming the truth and telling it to someone who understands and not only will have some positive influence but he stands to be impacted by the issue as well.

11. Dean is being hammered about this topic |
|
I know someone close enough to the "inner circle" of supporters in my area that she was asked to play chauffeur for guests at a dinner that was organized for Dean. Her "passenger" was Joe Trippi...
During the event Dean remarked that everyone has "heard my stump speech so let me just talk to you tonight and fill you in on a few things..." (or something to this effect) From that point he just spoke candidly about a number of issues.
During that discussion, he acknowledged that everywhere he goes people are talking about BBV. He is well aware of it, and considers it highly important.
A significant goal (of ours) should be to get them (Dean, Kucinich and the others) to write about this in their web sites, or to link to content that discsusses it in other sites. Anyone that can bear influence in that regard would be making a huge difference in terms of public outreach - simply not enough people who are not otherwise active around politics know about this critical issue.
If our candidates really this seriously, they should make it leading news so people will start waking up.
Thanks
