Any Politician with strong ties to the 'christian' Right... |
|
Should have his/her power to be considered illegitimate.
1. There is a direct correlation between ties to the 'christian' Right and corruption.
Look at Tom DeLay. Look at Ralph Reed. Look at George W. Bush.
2. The people who vote for 'christian' Right politicians are also often coerced to vote for these politicians by their Church or Para-Church Leaders. (This does not represent American Democracy BTW)
"You have ties to the 'christian' Right?"
...
"Then you do not represent me!"

2. Odd that a few we feel are nuts can run every thing. |
|
You see this all through history and I never could figure it out. Why do we let it happen?

3. because the election process is so arduous, only the most motivated |
|
make it through....
The difference is HOW these guys are motivated. For example, I would think Conyers is motivated to work for the public good.
the others guys are motivated by dreams of world domination and plunder and pillage.
If your motive is great enough, you can put up with the very long, very expensive process to get elected.
What we need to do is make the process easier and cheaper for someone who is not a gizillionaire, or beholden to gizillionaire lobbyists, to run for office.
