2. What is the real argument against France? |
|
Even Jon Stewart agreed with O'Reilly saying that France wasn't our friend, but he added that they were more like Marcy on Peanuts, than Lucy.

5. Pure distraction for the stupid. How do you demonize 161 out of 191? |
|
You can't.
So you pick one, and you demonize that one.
Distract the stupid from the fact that the vast majority of the entire world -citizens and nations- said HELL NO.

I compare it more to they guy that tries to take your keys so you don't drive home falling-down drunk. Yeah, that guy that is going out on a limb trying to save you from a huge mistake is a real jerk. /sarcasm

11. We can ask Tommy Friedman |
|
who penned a spectacularly dumb (even for Friedman) France is Becoming Our Enemy column: France wants America to sink in a quagmire there in the crazy hope that a weakened U.S. will pave the way for France to assume its "rightful" place as America's equal, if not superior, in shaping world affairs.

13. Okay, let's talk specifics. |
|
1) France had oil interests in Iraq before we went in? Yes or no?
2) France has once before not allowed the US to fly over its air space when the US was trying to undergo a military mission in another situation? Yes or no?
3) And then the sensible decision not to support this Iraq War.
Personally, I think #3 is the weakest argument of the 3.
I also know that France conducted Nuclear testing somewhere in the Pacific which pissed off a great many people.
But still, we have other allies which have done much worse to us.
What else do we have on France?

17. I think P.J. O'Rourke bashed them best |
|
"French ideas, French beliefs, and French actions form a sort of lodestone for humanity. A moral compass needle needs a butt end: Whatever direction France is pointing -- toward collaboration with Nazis, accommodation with communists, existentialism, Jerry Lewis, or a UN resolution veto -- we can go the other way with a quiet conscience."

the willingness to tell you when you're wrong? Throughout history, has the U.S. had better friends than France and Canada? That was until we got a petulant brat as president.

Reich-wingers are morons.
The corporate rulers exploit the rubes' hatred for anything foreign.
They have to have enemies everywhere to justify the grossly excessive, insane military spending in "the home of the brave." More like the home of the chickenhawks and war profiteers.
