Now Carville's Position on Plame Makes Sense |
|
A while back, I was shocked when he said on CNN this is no big deal and the American people think it's silly and we should move on to something else.
Didn't occur to me at that time that he could be sweating his wife's role.

1. Yeah, Carville is no big deal these days either. |
|
When was the last time he did jack shit for the Democratic Party?
1992 was a long time ago.

4. He campaigned and published for the cause for quite a while |
|
after 1992. He wrote several books, and was once a strong champion. He's not done much lately, though, has he?

6. Yeah, I read one of his consulting papers for 2000. |
|
But if you watch the War Room, that person no longer exists.

2. Yeah, he may have a vested interest |
|
in keeping his wife and the mother of their children out of jail. He's a brilliant political mind, but his allegiances are to the almighty dollar, not ideals.

3. Another Theory: He Knew Matalin Was Singing |

And took that position to throw the other side off balance.

5. I tend to agree with you |

I don't think Carville will fall on his sword for this administration, even if his wife worked for Cheney. For one thing, he is from Louisiana and I don't think he's particularly happy with the Katrina post-flooding FEMA response. For another, I think he's swayed Matalin more than the other way around. We will see, though.

11. I hope that's the case |

I like the guy, and I dislike liking him whenever I remember his relationship with that harpy Mary.
We're all speculating now, and this will take a lot of time to unfold.
Remember, the monarchists will not go quietly into that sweet night; they may be able to quash this yet.
How various movers and shakers ally themselves will be very interesting, and it'll be fine theatre. Sadly, the stakes are nothing short of the future of the world.

7. the best thing Jim Boy can do right now |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 01:10 PM by musette_sf
is to head to South Louisiana and get REAL REAL involved in the reconstruction effort. Hometown area boy and family of origin of longstanding residence, blah blah blah, hook up with Jimmy Carter, and take a big-ass stand against the corporate aristocracy and the Bu$hCo tentacles without and within.
He can work on the "irreconcilable differences" and subsequent divorce later.
It's the only way he has a shred of credibility left. The name "Carville" will be associated with two groups of lepers, if he doesn't cleanse himself now.
(no offense to actual leprosy sufferers)

Downplaying it in hopes his wifey will be spared. Makes perfect sense.

Oh well. Loyalty to one's country doesn't seem to have much currency anymore, so it's probably a better deal to keep the wife.
Besides, it was a deal with the devil that he made years ago. After all, her involvement with a treasonous and corrupt administration was one of the known quantities before they married.

10. I saw Begalia admit on T.V. that he had been indicted or investigated |
|
for something. Maybe Carville was in that thing too. I don't - for the life of me - know what the issue was. Politics is messy - but I doubt that most political ops have divulged the name of a CIA officer & "cover company" - while there guy was in office and cooking up "intelligence" to make the case for aggressive war using planted evidence like Niger Yellowcake.
