Are * and the neocons tree guys masquerading as foresters?
I just skimmed the thread on Rummy getting excercised about China and their nuke program. This was after listening to Condi waxing cerebral on a half a century in Iraq and engaging in ptolemics over the meaning of the Iraqi election and the new "Iraqi" government. And then there was Chertoff explaining how DHS is truly your onstop shopping center for domestic and international disasters. And the Marc Maron just said something on "Morning Sedition" about Condi still selling the neocon agenda and appearing oblivious to the changing dynamics of power vis a vis the fallout of scandals in the administration and public opinion. Then I had a brief epiphany--could be that I'm caffeine deprived now and the coffeeshop doesn't open for another half hour. These neocons all appear to believe that they have this grand plan for history. However, they also appear to get so focused on one or two details or benchmarks? that they never seem to step back and actually see the whole picture of how it is playing out. Shortsightedness, inability to plan, I don't know what to call it.

If that is not the case, then is it that the disparate objectives of the neocons and their corporate sponsors is such that chaos is the only thing that can result? This grand forestry plan they are promoting doesn't work because the corporate structures who brought them to power are clearcutting. Of course, I think they understand the nature of trees also so couldn't produce an effective plan for landscaping my backyard, let alone growing and maintaining a whole forest.

Just interested in everyone's thoughts on this. The one thing the * corporatists and/or neocons have succeeded in doing is killing democracy here.
