they can't even get Harriet to fill out her application form.

WTF are they doing about protecting us from all them evildoers?

I'm serious?

as incompetent as they've proven themselves to be in almost everything they've ever done, now that they're totally preoccupied with CYA city, do you think this might be a swell time for god knows what in the terror arena?

I'm starting to get a little nervous here

1. Harriet has actually done very little put down on the application.
That is the real problem.
But you are correct, the incompetent response to Katrina and Rita proved to the world just how weak and vulnerable we actually are to to any real world enemy that would like to do us in. The bu$h administration has set US up quite well for a downfall.

2. But but but if you'd voted for the other guy...
....you would have been much more likely to be attacked again.

3. This is a firm argument for impeachment, as it was in 1974.
When all the cards fell in 1974, that was a hot topic. Can Nixon still do his job? In spite of the WH spin and all the machinations by a very competent WH staff, things leaked out. The presidency was weak, indecisive and overwhelmed by Watergate.

Now, we have a similar problem which has given rise to a different situation. Scandal has rocked the WH. Unfortunately, Chimp is no Nixon. In spite of the fact that many WH people were weaned in Nixon's WH they look disorganized and incapable. Not only should people worry about Chimp, they also need to worry about the WH in general. Nixon cast off the stinkers early on. Chimpy has not done that. The "cancer eating at the presidency" is still eating at the presidency.

In the spring of 1973, Nixon fired all his aides. That could have happened two years ago. It didn't. So we have the same people who hatched this insidious plot still in the WH. The result is a very dangerous situation for our country. Not only is there no leadership, but the people around the leader are also incapable of handling even day-to-day problems.

I'll take Nixon any day next to these idiots.
