YES, if wounded troops die outside Iraq THEY ARE COUNTED.
YES, non-combat deaths ARE COUNTED.

YES, if troops commit suicide in Iraq, THEY ARE COUNTED.

YES, if troops are murdered in Iraq, THEY ARE COUNTED.

YES, if wounded troops die in hospitals or on the runway or in the plane THEY ARE COUNTED.

YES, with 1/4 million hits /month we would have been told of at least ONE MISSING NAME; we never have been.

Thank you.

3. um...okay...but is anyone counting the Iraqi deaths/casualties?
my understanding is that the military is keeping track, but not sharing that info.

7. I guess not. we aren't even getting body counts from Katrina.
I guess its an impossible task to tally the bodies if knowing the number causes political damage.

9. No not possible; US troops dug mass graves for dead Iraqis during
the invasion, so God only knows how many dead.

Gen. Tommy "I'm an asshole" Franks said 30,000 Iraqis were killed within the first 6 weeks.

8. No the military does not even attempt to track Iraqi deaths.
There are groups who are trying to; the Lancet report said 100,000+ civilian deaths, another group from the Iraqi government also came up with 100,000+ Iraqi civilians dead.

There are count sites for Iraqi deaths but they ONLY count via newspaper articles, and with journalists 1) being pegged off by troops in Iraq, 2) too dangerous for journalists to travel outside the green zone and 3) tough info to get due to burial requirements within 24 hours and a raging war happening these sites are vastly undercounting.
