Both Storm Headed for a Collision |
|
I wish I could post pics right now, but if you hop on over to Wunderground you will see that both Wilma and Alpha are heading straight up the East Coast and look as if they will meet each other on Monday.
Any meteoroligists out there to confirm this possibility.

3. They're not going to reform. |

If they do meet up, it'll just be one nasty blob of a storm.

westward turn? Would the two extreme low pressure areas attract or repel each other? Or...would the outer bands of the storms collide and force the storms away from each other?

the weaker storm tends to try to circle the stronger storm, probably due to the dominant circulation.

9. Wilma will be passing through warmer water in the gulf as she... |

heads toward landfall and should remain the stronger of the two. Until Alpha gets to the colder water further north in the Atlantic, the fuel is there to allow the storm to intensify. Any stats on what the present water temps are in the projected paths of the two storms?

That's not likely to change.

14. I hope it doesn't intensify. |

America has suffered enough already. I do NOT think things are normal like the pResident claims. I think the warmer seawater is at fault. I hope I'm wrong. If next year is worse than this one, the entire country is in big trouble.

Alpha is fizzling out. Merging with Wilma won't mean anything.
If Alpha were a big storm, it's unlikely that it would merge anyway. The energy given off by a big storm usually "repels" other storms from joining up.
