Hey, folks, I was in West-by-God-Virginia for the last several days, and so am a bit tardy in passing on this note to you all.
Sad News;
Well, it finally happened!

Hello Ben,
I'm very sorry I didn't notify you yesterday about our show not being on the air. I was in a rather unsettled state of mind. Let me explain.
On Thursday the radio station notified me that our show would be pre-empted because of 24 hr. hurricane coverage. Fair enough. Well, as you know the hurricane was delayed and come Saturday morning I called the station and asked if we would still be pre-empted. They replied "Yes, you will be pre-empted". However, I listened to the station some and discovered that all of the regular shows were on the air. I figured they wouldn't start the hurricane coverage until late afternoon. I tuned in at 6pm to discover that they were running a Limbaugh pre-recorded program in my slot. I called and was told "Oh, we forgot to tell you, your show has been canceled because we are moving Gator football from one of our other stations to your time slot". I was stunned. Obviously, they have had plans to do that for some time now without notifying me until the last minute so that I would not have an opportunity to do a final show and say goodbye to my loyal listeners. I received many angry e-mails last night and this morning accusing me of blowing town for my safety while they had to stay. I never had any plans whatsoever to leave town and am sitting here in my boarded up house waiting for the storm to come later tonight.
Ben, I am just devastated over this. No warning, no apology, no nothing from the station. My producer is going to try and get us on another local station but the odds are very much against us because there is not one station around here carrying any liberal programming. Not even one program.
I'll let you know of any further developments. And, this information is not confidential so you may pass it on if you like.
Thanks for all of your support and your great help in promoting the program.
Guy
