Bush says Iraq war will require more sacrifice
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N25250684.htm

WASHINGTON, Oct 25 (Reuters) - As the U.S. military death toll in Iraq reached 2,000, President George W. Bush said on Tuesday the war will require more time and sacrifice, and rejected calls for a U.S. pullout.

"Each loss of life is heartbreaking, and the best way to honor the sacrifice of our fallen troops is to complete the mission and lay the foundation of peace by spreading freedom," Bush said, his voice breaking with emotion as he spoke at a luncheon of military wives at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington.

His remarks came shortly before the Pentagon announced that Staff Sgt. George Alexander Jr., 34, of Killeen, Texas, died at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas on Saturday of injuries sustained Oct. 17 in Samarra, Iraq, when a bomb planted by insurgents detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

This pushed the death toll in a war that began in March 2003 to 2,000. More than 15,000 U.S. troops have also been wounded in combat.

1. When and what will he sacrifice?
He has sent America's sons and daughters to die in a war based on a lie.

What is he willing to sacrifice for this lie?

3. None of the Bush kids are sacrificing
But neither did W or any of his brothers during Vietnam.

4. That's exactly right...And
It's especially troubling when you consider that George Bush was so gung-ho, ra-ra for the Vietnam War. He was a huge supporter of the Vietnam War, from what his Harvard Business School professor said.

Yet he was not willing to go over there and fight.

Cowardice at its highest.

5. Sacrifice... for *some*.
What the hell does Bush's crowd know about sacrifice? Remember when we went after the Taliban in Afghanistan, the first war that Bush prosecuted. At the time, he was cutting millionaires' taxes and the administration was actually giving seminars to wealthy donors on how to PROFIT from the coming wars.

"Should I hate a people for the shade of their skin
Or the shape of their eyes or the shape I'm in
Should I hate 'em for having our jobs today
No I hate the men sent the jobs away
I can see them all now, they haunt my dreams
All lily white and squeaky clean
They've never known want, they'll never know need
Their shit don't stink and their kids won't bleed
Their kids won't bleed in the damn little war
And we can't make it here anymore..."

- James McMurtry, "We Can't Make It Here"

7. hey Bush!!!!
why don't you put on that fake uniform and lead the troops? Give those disheartened soldiers some motivation by leading the charge---It's time you put up or shut up!! You and your neocon friends like playing pretend soldier, so why don't you show true sacrifice and be a model for our soldiers. We're waiting!!!!:spank:

10. And no one questions him on "flowers being thrown at the soldiers feet"
No Weapons of Mass Destruction.

The Iraqi's oil will pay for the invasion.

The war will be over in two weeks.

The torture of untried Iraqi's.

The killing of over 100 thousand innocent Iraqi citizen's.

Ignoring bin Laden and attacking a country that never attacked us.

The stealing of tax payers money for Halliburton and other republican corporations to "rebuild" what we destroyed.

The fourteen US bases built in Iraq.

The stealing of Iraqi oil daily.

12. 2000 dead in Bush's miguided project...
... and that's just the occupying troops, tens of thousands of Iraqis have died for his stupidity.

And even if he were capable of admitting a mistake, he doesn't dare to here, because he would be eaten alive.

Way to lead.

14. But not by the "have mores." corporate cronies and war profiteers
Spread the pain among the people, the aged, the poor, the sick, the uneducated, they can afford it. My cronies need more war contracts and tax cuts.
