8. The child is not in the line of succession. If Albert has no heirs |
|
his elder sister, Caroline, will inherit the position as ruler of Monaco. Her eldest son would suceed her.
Albert seems to be trying to bring Moanco from a 2oth century "sunny place for shady people" to a modern economy and society.
That said, he is the political ruler of his country. He is not a figurehead.

his sister(s) and their children to inherit if he (Albert) has no legitimate heirs. No monarchy allows illegitimate children to inherit. He has provided for the child since birth and the child can legally inherit up to 1/2 of his multi-billion dollar fortune. The child is beautiful and Albert seems to have done the right thing by supporting both him and the mom.

I couldn't see any politician here doing anything similar....especially so publicly....
Albert is a real man and he has held to his responsibilities.

Just off the top of my head...
I think the guy has a DUTY to support his child, and he ought to work to get the kid the full recognition that he is entitled to.
I don't think kids are illegitimate, it's parents who sometimes are...

23. Just because no monarchy has ever done it does not mean it cannot be done |
|
I mean, really, what are kings and princes, but inbred descendants of mean bastards who took their wealth and power by force?
I think a little fresh blood would do wonders for them!

Monaco doesn't have a King. They're all princes/princesses.

10. Monaco is a Principality. Albert is His Serene Hignness, Prince Albert. |
|
He is both a prince AND the political leader of his country, unlike other European royalty (except Luxembourg and Lichteinstein.)

15. Quite right!!! Seems odd though |

Usually where there are princes, there should be a king.
Perhaps every man is a king in Monaco!!

21. Monaco is a Principality & Albert is the head of state as well as the |
|
political ruler unlike any other European state except Luxembourg or Lichteinstein. He actually has both power and wealth and a princely status. He is "His Serene Highness" not "His Royal Highness." It is a royal/princely distinction.

Bob Woodward scheduled. CNN has pretty good sources, and I'd guess that already having Woodward booked makes a pretty good case that CNN is planning on the indictments coming down tomorrow.

5. Albert believes in Global Warming & supports environmental causes. |

He is his mother's son. His slight stutter is endearing. Interesting: his English language accent is American English. He attended college in the US.

9. To be fair, Larry King is a talk show, not a news show |
|
I hear a lot of people commenting and/or complaining about some of his guests and topics, but really, it is a talk show, so he is not obligated to do the news. He does do very topical shows at times, yes, but he's not breaking any news credo by having the Prince of Monaco on tonight.

12. Again, he's a talk show host. Has he claimed to be a journalist? |
|
I've not heard that, but if has described himself as a journalist, do you know when that was? (Not trying to flame, just don't understand why people get so mad when he doesn't spotlight the latest news item.)

17. Oh yes he will spotlight the latest news...to his liking that is. |
|
He would have a lot of political figures on to talk about the topic of the day including presidents and their wives. He also had Cheney on there quite a bit. And Woodward and Bernstein when the deep throat thing broke and when Woodward was pimping his book. But lately he's had non political guests. I think he is avoiding the topic of the CIA Leak purposely as much as he can.

I'm sure he has a say in who comes on his program. I actually don't like many of his "news/political" shows because he does seem to overload them with right-wingers!

and an ethical one, I believe.
We could do a lot worse than having the Prince of Monaco as OUR head of state.
Oh wait! We already HAVE a lot worse leader!
