This is a headline I don't want to be bothered with. It makes me want to throw up. It's news value is simply sensational, and no good comes from its being reported. The network news is looking more like tabloids every day.

I don't know why people get so upset when the ONLY story in the news isn't one that attacks Bush.
I'm pretty sure even on Nov. 22, 1963, or Dec. 7, 1941, there were other items in the news.
Every time there's a story about Kobe, or a bear attack, or a tiger attack, or a celebrity divorce, people run around here screaming "DIVERSION! DIVERSION!".
I for one am glad there's more than story in the news on any given day.

3. Just think of what life must be for those children! |

Of course the surgery should be done. They deserve a real life. I hope they live.

5. I agree: it Rivets my emotions, intellect, and imagination |

I imagine what it must be like to be born con-joined, or to be the parents of con-joined twins. The science involved so new and still dangerous, the slicing of neurons, shared livers, genitals--the pain involved for the children and the pain of the parents decision..
It is wonderful to hear of science being used to help sentient beings. I think of the historical treatment of con-joined twins, from execution at birth, being abandoned at cross-roads and freak-shows, etc. And I rejoice that sometimes we are capable of helping children instead of desposing of them as collateral damage in our wars.
The fact that some of these twins can not be separated and that brain damage may occur even if successful reminds me of the importance of revering all life not just that life that society deems as "beautiful" and "healthy."

when asked if the twins could come to Dallas for analysis. "America, the land of miracles." Stories like this show the best America has to offer. I love them.
