The clues that jumped out at me today... |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 06:31 PM by Gloria
early in the Q & A today, Fitz said that No, he couldn't answer questions about any of "the dangers that this has created for all of us."
Later, he stated that "The obstruction" is keeping him from "getting the truth." (earlier, he had reeled off a list of related questions--intent of this obstruction, why? etc etc.)
Near the end, a reporter (unknown) asks about conspiracy...that Libby wasn't charged on this, but is this what Fitz was exploring? And Fitz VERY QUICKLY cut him off, practically before the guy could get the question out....
I think he's sitting on a huge pile of stuff relating to the lies leading up to this war...and needs to do more squeezing to wrap it up. He probably IS close to the end of the investigation....and needs some key info.....let's hope he gets it!

Obstruction....I kept thinking about that - the investigation has hit a roadblock. They need the "obstructionist" to talk and that's what they're hoping comes of Libby's indictments. Fitzgerald is putting the squeeze on Libby to get that key info.

3. I recorded Fitzgerald's press conference. |
|
I will be studying it all weekend. And I will probably pick out some clues such as you did. Good job.

The moles around here, the ones who were saying "no indictments" yesterday, are today saying, "no more indictments, Libby walks free", apparently did not listen to the press conference and hear what I heard.
Fitz was *overly* careful about saying anything that would jeopardize future indictments. That was good. But this can only mean that he's run out of time on this grand jury. He had to go with what he had, and will pursue the rest of the case with the new grand jury.
I listened to him all through the press conference thinking, "Why no conspiracy charges?" When he shut down that question so quickly a light lit above my head.
What's amazing is that none of the press has picked up on this. None of them.
