I hope I'm wrong--but what you see is what you get-with Fitz. |
|
About a year ago, many of you were saying Kerry was going to come up with something brilliant regarding the stolen election. It didn't happen, and I doubt anything more comes out of the CIA/leak case. Libby's trial will be stalled til after the 2006 election-and then Bush hands out a pardon when he is found guilty. Bush takes some heat -but he is a very lame duck by then anyway.

1. How is that a description of Fitzgerald? |
|
There have been enough links to his record for you to know that's a pile of crap.

2. I'll take a very lame duck over a Gerry Ford and a possible succession... |

Bushco is seemingly crippled for the duration - I'm happy for now...

4. I am thinking that we, the grassroots, will have to save our |
|
country ourselves...there are not going to be any white knights to the rescue. I hope we can all concentrate on 2006 elections, giving time and money to our people.

7. Possibly, but unless Libby pleads out,, the Pubs don't want this |
|
hanging around during the 06 elections!
Lots of very strange things come out during trials, and you can be sure the trial, if there is one, won't be in the very near future. Defense attys need time to get depositions, interview witnesses, and pull a case together. Remember, it's alomost Nov.05! Once we get into Jan, it's campaign time!
I'd be very surprised if any other indictments come out of this Fitz investigation, but the trial is another story.

8. however, there is the chance that, because there are so many other cases |
|
about corruption rigth now, by 06 the damage to GOP candidates might be greater than we could imagine. if the ohio coingate scandal gets some front page attention and the other cases pile up at the same time, the general public might get fed up with the bad news about this gov. AT this rate, we could see (which I hope doesn't happen) 3000+ dead soldiers from Iraq and Afganistan and if * pushes to go after Iran and Syria and that demands US military involvement, the presurre would be too much for the public to ignore...Just wait about the low retail sales in Xmas if gas prices don't come down. That will also be a hugh blow to the admin...

9. There is a major difference, though. |
|
Kerry was a spineless jellyfish. (I'll be generous and use the past tense here.)
Fitzgerald is decidedly *not* spineless.

First, doing just a little research on Fitzgerald's background gives me hope. This is the first time in a long time that we have had an honest person with integrity working on behalf of truth and justice. I trust Fitzgerald and I haven't been able to say that I trust 'anyone' in a long time. Lots of people who rely on MSM for their news are now beginning to open their eyes to see a little bit of the truth of just how corrupt this administration is...and many who have been asleep are now waking up. That alone makes it good news. Fitzgerald is not done, he's just beginning. Be patient.

12. If you were watching the Sunday Pundit shows....I can see why you might |
|
think that. Just remember though, that the Pundits don't see it all. Every day we here on the Dem side of the "Internets" get stronger and stronger. I don't think Fitzgerald would hurt his reputation by spending two years and putting a reporter in jail, just to charge Libby with perjury. It wouldn't have been worth his bother.

13. WYSIWYG - I like that about Fitz |
|
He's very straight up and says exactly what he means.
He says the investigation isn't over. He won't talk about anything outside of Libby at this point - that is a very good sign.
He basically told the American public to be patient while the investigation is going on.
He's signed a lease for more office space, which suggests he's going to expand operations. This is big, this is only the beginning.
Any number of people have posted about his ohter investigations which started out small and ended up with the whole racket going down.
Libby is the low hanging fruit - there will be more. This is waaaaay stinky - it goes straight to the top.

14. I think you're right and that's a good thing. |
|
It was obvious to me from the press conference that Fitzgerald will drive himself nuts if he doesn't find out who the original leaker was and make a case for it. Just because Libby wasn't charged with leaking doesn't mean no one will be charged with leaking. Maybe nothing more will happen, but I'd bet money that's what he's going to try to do.

16. I think he already knows |
|
who the original leaker is. He just has to make sure his case is airtight. I also believe that his investigation has expanded into other areas.

15. You're not wrong, you're not right.......... |
|
You're just voicing your speculation. We all see what we want to see, or what we fear most, or what we think is happening.
But, here's the cold, hard fact of reality, and it's all you have, so start chanting your new mantra as far as the Fitzgerald investigation goes:
We know nothing.
We know nothing.
We know nothing.
Now, get out there and enjoy this gorgeous Sunday ...........
