A sign of voter preference? Edwards 1st, Lieberman last - eBay clocks |
|
The candidtates painted clocks for NH charity. eBay sold them Edwards's went for $330 (a gallery bought it, so, apparently it has resale value) Gephardt $202 Dean $157 Kerry $89 Lieberman $31 (Insert jokes here) http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewListedItems&userid=vsaartsnh&include=0&since=7&sort=3&rows=25

Those who relate more to the "working man" know more about designing clock faces ("clocking in" and "clocking out")? Or the top two in bids just better artists? :eyes:
In the fall of 1948, the Staley Milling company sold sacks of grain with either a donkey or an elephant pictured on them. Despite polls taken at the time all showing a solid lead by Thomas Dewey over Harry Truman, buyers preferred the donkey sacks by a two-to-one margin. The Staley company actually discontinued its "pullet poll" because it didn't believe the sales results. Just goes to show...:eyes:

3. If you're buyin a sack a grain, you're probably gonna toss that sack ... |
|
...eventually. If you're buying a clock painted by a candidate on eBay, you're probably going to be calculating in the value if the guy gets elected.

2. I'm impressed by their artistic abilities! |

I had no idea we had such a talented group of candidates. I like Kerry's clock the best - very abstract.
(not endorsing anybody here).

It looks like something Peter Fonda might have on the back of his jacket.
Lieberman's is the most conventional.
Edward's is cute: "time for change" -- that's funny.
Dean's is cute too -- "Rx - change"
It looks like Gep is trying to work in a St Louis theme.
