Max Cleland was great on C-Span this morning
I was hoping some other DUers saw and posted about this. This is not word for word but:

He said that no one in the intelligence community would take responsibility for being the one to warn us of another attack.

He said that we are in a dead-end position in Iraq and either have to send in 4 more divisions or get out. He said that we don't have 4 divisions so by next May we will have to either send in all the reserves who are not trained as well as the regular troops or we will have to have a draft.

He countered the wing nut callers well who called him unpatriotic etc.

I wish he could be on the cable news programs regularly like Anntrax Coulter etc were.

1. I saw him too, he was great
I just wish that when that freeper called to tell him why he lost in Georgia, that someone would have countered that he lost because it was a stolen election.

I agree that we should see him more often, then maybe people would hear the truth!

2. stetson grads of the world unite!
I met Sen. Cleland before my graduation from Stetson Univ., where he as an alumni from the poli sci dept. He told of how he was a mediocre student, but chose to go to Vietnam. He was a student of my advisor, Dr. T. Wayne Bailey, a big name in Florida Democratic Politics, he was a very intelligent and charismatic guy, regardless of his injuries. I was honored to meet the guy, and its a shame that he was shamefully insulted during the 2000 election.

3. Wow..Cleland went to Stetson?
I didn't go but lived very close to Deland. Had many friends who graduated from Stetson btw 1969 and 1972. Great University!

5. He was great
Delayed everything this am just to get to hear him and it was certainly worth it - how the Democrats let the deserter (bush) get away with this in Georgia, I'll never know - what happened was a disgrace. Wish he could be on every show ever night repeating this stuff over and over.

6. Wouldn't it be great if he tried again for Senate in Georgia?
What happeded ther was horrible, I guess there is a limit to what he can put up with.

7. He said that rather then run himself he was going to work for Kerry
He was asked if he was going to run again and he said he was going to help fellow Vietnam vet Kerry run for President.

8. He would make an excellent VP
especially for someone more soft-spoken like Kerry. He's a real good watch dog. He was very forceful on WJ this morning. Very convincing.

I wish him well - he certainly deserves better than he got in Georgia.

9. I don't intentionally mean to be an extremist
but any repuke asshole who questions Max Cleland's patriotism needs to spend the rest of his/her life in Gitmo.
