The killing of American G.I:s will not suddenly stop |
|
...As soon as the UN takes control of Iraq.
The damage has all ready been done and those that are blowing up embassies and launching grenades against US forces will not give a damned about what color their occupiers' berets happen to have.
I don't know about you, but I support handing over control to the UN in Iraq because it is the moral thing to do - not because I expect things to improve over there in the foreseeable future.

1. It's the moral thing to do and it will help decrease violence |

But I agree that it won't be a silver bullet. Especially depending on how much controll actually gets handed over to the UN. And how the US/British soldiers on the ground act. And on weather the Iraqi people get a real say in their future or a toady government to the United States. It'll take time, no matter what we do but I think handing power over to the UN would be a sign that we aren't just in Iraq to steal their oil.

Oh. I forgot. What they want doesn't count.
