6000+ People showed up for a lightly publicised Noam Chomsky Talk tonight
All ages , blew my mind, the size of the crowd.

11,000 seat O-dome well over half full.

One thing we noticed, as internet news trawlers, was that nothing Noam

said was new to us, kudos to DU,Narco News, Guardian, Indymedia, Pacifica

and Democracy Now and many more.

You should have seen the crowd in two long lines waiting to go thru

security. Warmed my heart.

3. Chomsky has always been very popular.
Chomsky's appearances are always sold out. He is booked years in advance!

I was driving through Gainesville recently and while fiddling with the FM radio was dismayed to hear a couple o' right wing cretins spewing the usual BS.......thanks for posting this info!

9. Heard about it on WMNF
Glad to hear there were 6000+ attending. Florida is not exactly a hotbed of liberal ideals.

10. I saw him at ISU
2 weeks ago, he spoke to a packed house at ISU. He's impressive, although I didn't agree with everything he had to say.

12. That's only natural when dealing with truths...
that so directly challenge the multitude of lies that many have been conditioned to believe as the truth.

While I may not agree with all of Chomsky's conclusions, I find his study of basic power relationships to be indispensible. No wonder he is so censored by the mainstream here in the US. Lots of people know who he is in Canada and Europe, because their media is not corporate-controlled.

14. Waited in line to see him at the U of Penn last year
The man has more capacity to bear the complicated burden of reality than anyone else is capable of. That is one strong individual.
