In Case You Missed Don Luskin's Latest Batch of Stupidity... |
|
Luskin is now claiming that Krugman supports anti-Semitism: But that's the least of it. The real issue here is Krugman's apparent acquiescence and participation in anti-Semitism. Will this finally be the issue that forces the New York Times to rein in America's most dangerous liberal pundit? Does Luskin try to go for a new level of stupidity each day? http://www.poorandstupid.com/2003_10_19_chronArchive.asp#106680887524233955

I'm not sure.
Luskin must have followed his leader and started to take OxyContin. The Hallucinations must be kicking in.

Second, and more critical to dissecting Luskin's Latest....
Mahathir stressed that the problem was "Jewish" speculators....Krugman's point was that the problem was "evil" (tongue in cheek) speculators.
The problem WAS speculators, regardless of whether they were Jewish or not.
Luskin is an ass.

Luskin tries to connect Krugman to Mahathir's long history of politically motivated anti-semitism by noting the following:
1) In 1997, Mahathir blamed the Asian crisis/currency meltdown/economic disaster on a Jewish conspiracy centered around currency speculators.
2) Krugman stated in an article that "even paranoids have enemies" or some such. And then noted that, in fact, rampant currency speculation WAS a big problem, and WAS a major factor in the unfolding of events in SE Asia during that time....one of the biggest currency speculators was George Soros, who is Jewish.
THEREFORE, concludes Luskin, Krugman was supportive of Mahathir's anti-semitic ravings.
Which is entirely false logic worthy only of an asshat like Luskin.
Krugman was pointing out that currency speculation, NOT Jewish conspiracy, was a big problem.
Mahathir was stressing that Jews, craftily engaged in a currency speculation conspiracy, were the problem.
See the difference?

6. Okay, that's what I thought |

So Soros was one person responsible, but while Judaism has nothing to do with that, something Krugman understood, Luskin doesn't care and twists the situation to fit his bizarre view of reality.
