Countdown with Keith Olbermann: Will he meet the Donahue fate? |
|
1. Will MSNBC give Olbermann the Donahue treatment? 2. Reactions to the show? I find it to be both entertaining and a lot more truth-seeking than most other newscasts. 3. What is your "earworm?" Mine is "I think I love you, so what am I afraid of..." There is an accursed commercial out with that song...I have the tv on in the background during the day and inevitably by 5 pm, I can't shake that song...

1. I was thinkin the exact same thing... |

Olberman has taken a pretty critical stance at this administration, but he may be too smart for those in charge of programming at MSGOP...I've found him to be pretty clever at taking shots at right wingers, but in a very nonconfrontational way.

2. I honestly thought that he... |

was the guy who used to host "Remote Control" on MTV, but that's Ken Ober. So, tell me, who is Keith Olbermann?

3. As my wife calls me a "sports whore", I'll tell you who he is... |
|
He used to be an anchor for ESPN. He also did time on Fox Sports Network. I believe he also had a stint on ESPN Radio.
His show on MSNBC goes through the top 5 stories of the day, and he spends a good amount of time on each one. His program has a very inquiring and in my view refreshing tone to it.

Ketih's show is very good. He is a very talented anchor.
His show has been on awhile too. Counter balance to Faux's mostly crap.

Keith makes it. He has a great show in which he incorporates a sense of humor, but he leaves himself open by criticizing the administration. He left another show he had because he wouldn't knuckle under. I don't remember which network that was.....not ESPN.

7. My favorite evening show. |
|
He actually covers a variety of topics in one hour. And he does take a shot at bu$sco which I like. My favorite: President bu$h told the Wihte House staff that he doesn't want anymore leaks coming from the White House. This metting was then leaked to the press.
Earworms? So that's why I keep hearing "Everybody was Kung Foo Fightin'".

...in an email that if he had more viewers on the left, the news executives would give him more control of the content. He said that MSNBC's demographics show more conservatives watch the network, and they have to cater to the predominant demographic.
So don't just watch, but write to countdown@msnbc.com and let them know you're watching and appreciate Olbermann's unique perspective.

Thanks for the critical thinking you put into the Countdown! It's quite a refreshing change from the sychophantic dissembling and rationalizing (about all things political) on shows like Scarborough Country. I live in N. Florida where the secretary (?) was found dead in his office, and everytime I hear his name I cringe and fight feelings of nausea!! Without your show, MSNBC would have been deleted from the program list on my television. Please know that there are many of us out here who appreciate your work; there should be more like you in mainstream media! Do not fear your enemies, all they can do is kill you... Do not fear your friends, at worst they may betray you... Fear those who do not are; The killing & betrayal exist because of their silent consent.
