says the culture will get so "bad" that traditional marriage will become a minority......
YIKES!!!!!!!
Does that mean that we will all be gay or that most of us will be gay?
That is the assertion emobodied in his statement...
I don't see the nexus between recognizing or tolerating a behavior and encouraging it...
Does anybody think in light of the recent Supreme Court decision on sodomy that men and women automatically eschewed their heterosexuality and embraced homosexuality?
John Stuart Mill was right.... "The Conservative party (insert Republicans) are the stupid party...."

24. Senator Santorum's comments on the Supreme Court case |
|
striking down the Texas homosexual sodomy law. . . .
SANTORUM: We have laws in states, like the one at the Supreme Court right now, that has sodomy laws and they were there for a purpose. . . .
Every society in the history of man has upheld the institution of marriage as a bond between a man and a woman. Why? Because society is based on one thing: that society is based on the future of the society. And that's what? Children. Monogamous relationships. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality _
AP: I'm sorry, I didn't think I was going to talk about "man on dog" with a United States senator, it's sort of freaking me out.

8. I think the caller is also complaining that people DON'T get married |
|
Being single all your life in the large metropolitan, northern city is no big deal, but in the mid and south west, you're probably considered a little weird. "normal" people get hitched and have 2.35 kids.

Yes, I will admit that as soon as the Supreme Court announced the sodomy decision, I dumped my wife and new born daughter, and I have hooked up with a new gay lover every day and am hoping to recruit these gay lovers all into the military and into the schools to persuade all the young males to become gay in the future.
(I hope people realize I'm being sarcastic...)

11. I've wondered this for a long time. |
|
What exactly do conservatives find so threatening about long-term, committed same-sex relationships?
Do they feel like their own sexual identity is so vulnerable? Like Jerry Seinfeld once said, because they know how low their sales resistance is?

12. "Traditional Marrige" constitues a minor part... |
|
...of all marraiges already. It's been this way since the 60's and possibly as far back as the mid-50's. Traditional being one man, one woman, man works, woman keeps house, "until death do us part", et.al.
That battle was lost a long time ago. The question now is really more of a question of where the new lines will end up being. I know what I would like to see. I can guarentee that it would pretty much piss off everyone but a few.

13. We could all be 'bi'... |
|
I'd sleep with a woman if I were really attracted to her--and though I consider myself hetero, I've had a couple crushes on women in my lifetime. I think most people could swing either way if the opportunity or desire arose. Sexuality should be something to be explored (with a consenting being, of course), not put in a boring little conservative box. I always look askew at those who denounce 'fags'--because in my personal experience, they are usually the first to secretly proposition your gay male friend, LOL.

Britanny must be driving these guys (and gals) crazy.
She is doing this whole gay/bi seduction thing with Madonna and they don't want to be turned on by it. But lo and behold, they can't get to sleep without thinking about... but it's so wrong.

18. Conservatives probably think that same-sex unions will probably |
|
breed more, overrunning the population!
You see, though, there's a logistical problem - especially funny when you realize that they always point out that Marriage was instituted for having children! guess you can't have a marriage without having children!!
Sad, though, that many marriages started with the firstborn attending in utero at the ceremony. Especially at "family values" conservative weddings.

21. My marriage is certainly not threatened... |
|
I don't get the argument from the right that the institution of marriage will be threatened if gays are allowed to marry... Gee, their (the conservatives') relationships must be on truly shaky ground... How on EARTH does another couple wanting a lifetime of faithful commitment to one another threaten MY marriage??? Seems to me that gay couples who want to wed are validating marriage, not threatening it... Yikes, stupidity is horrifying...
