Would you vote Republican so that Zell Miller would lose an election? |
|
Just wondering...He loses and the Dems are forced to run a decent candidate next time 'round.

But since he's retiring, it's not an issue.
And congratulations on 100 posts! :toast:

He's retiring, and the GOP owns Georgia.
However, I would Never vote for Any Republican.
It's the D or else.

But I might look at the Green candidate, if there was one.
Did the Republicans even bother to run someone against Miller last time?

He was appointed in 2000 after another Senator retired.

he was appointedin '98 and had to run in 2000 to serve out the rest of the six year term, hence he's up in 2004 but announced a while ago that he will not seek reelection.

16. Didn't he already state that he is NOT running for re-election? |
|
makes this and other related conversations rather pointless. And makes his behavior harder to understand, this is NOT about trying to get votes in the next election. He is, reportedly, retiring.

I would vote Green if I lived in Georgia and Miller ran again as a "Democrat."

If the Republican candidate was moderate, I'd consider voting for him/her over someone like Zell Miller.
But it would have to be a Jennifer Dunn, a Jim Greenwood, an Olympia Snowe...and as far as Georgia Republicans go, those flavors simply don't exist.

I expect the party leaders, DNC and DLC, to force Miller to declare his party and strip him of committee memberships.
The next election for Millers' slot would then be open for a Dem candidate.
I will NOT vote for ANY republicans. That party for me, is finished.
