To change my registration or not... |
|
Hey people. I was hoping you guys could help me decide on something. Right now, I'm a 19-year-old registered Democrat in the state of New Jersey. However, I go to college in New Orleans. My question is, would my vote be more valuable and help the cause of kicking Bush out if I were to switch my registration to Louisiana? Also, same goes for the primaries. I haven't seen numbers out of Jersey, but I don't think Dean needs my help there. He probably does here in Louisiana. All help is appreciated!
Later.

primaries, but re-register as absentee B4 the general. The Dem candidate needs NJ electoral votes.

isn't til june, by then we should either have a winner, or dean may need all the votes he can get to pull ahead
I don't think you're allowed to change your registration unless you actually live in lousiana. I'd be allowed to do it (if i didn't commute) since I live and go to school in jersey, i'd just have to vote in a different district.

I admire your confidence in voting. I think voting in NJ would be best, since we really need that state. However, as we get closer to the election, it may turn out that it will be closer in LA. Good luck.

If Louisiana lets you switch your registration to them, go for it. (You have to live there, obviously, which it sounds like you do.) If New Jersey is not solidly in the Democratic column come November, 2004, we've got bigger problems.
