Dear MoveOn member in Illinois,

As the furor over the President's misuse of evidence to support the
Iraq war continues to grow, local Chicago groups are holding a
Memorial for War Casualties and Call for Truth. I hope you can make
it -- it looks like it'll be a powerful event.

WHEN: 4 pm Wednesday, July 23
WHERE: Chicago Federal Building, Dearborn and Adams Streets

The event will include erecting a Memorial Wall containing the names
of the victims of the Iraq War, both U.S. soldiers and Iraqi
civilians. A delegation will be sent to the offices of Senators Peter
Fitzgerald and Richard Durbin calling for an independent bipartisan
Commission of Inquiry to investigate the justifications for war with
Iraq.

Speakers include: Bishop C. Joseph Sprague, Methodist Bishop of
Northern Illinois Conference; Kathy Kelly, Voices in the Wilderness,
nominated three times for Nobel Peace Prize; Alderman Joe Moore, who
initiated the successful anti-war resolution in Chicago City Council;
Imam Malik Mujahid, Muslim Community Center.

The Memorial Wall will be 6 feet by 36 feet and hundreds of people in
attendance will lay flowers at base of wall as part of the memorial.
Please bring flowers.

Participating groups include American Friends Service Committee,
Chicagoans Against War and Injustice (CAWI), Christian Peacemaker
Teams, Circle of Life Affinity Group, 8th Day Center, Episcopal Peace
Fellowship, IL SOA Watch, Pax Christi, Fellowship of Reconciliation,
Peace Pledge - Chicago, Resources Unlimited Foundation, and Voices in
the Wilderness.
