If you were a relative of the Hussein boys, would you claim the bodies? |
|
I mean, if they will kill a teenager, wouldn't you think they might "hold a family member for questioning"? That just sounded strange to me when I heard it on the news this morning. Anyone else?

2. Well, if I were their father, I'd think it over carefully.... |
|
But surely a mother wouldn't be faulted for coming to get her sons. And I believe they have questioned two of Sadam's wives already.
Is this a trick question?????

5. I believe that nearly the entire family is on that stupid deck of cards--- |
|
including the mother of the 14 year old grandson. there is no way in hell that I would go to claim those bodies. I'd wait for the Americans to bury them and then I would have someone retrieve them by night or something.

Play by Sophocles, Antigone's brother rebelled against the city and was killed. Her uncle, now king, announced that no one could bury the body. Antigone went ahead and buried her brother. She was executed by her uncle for this.
Yup. I can certainly see the Bush Regime doing something similar.

10. This is an excellent point |
|
I am very familiar with that play (I studied drama in college and played Creon, the king, in a production at my all-girls boarding school - LOL) and think the analogy is very apt. Bush* and company would be likely to be suspicious of any family member. Qusay's 14-year-old son was not exempt from assassination because of his age.
I cannot see the women of this family coming forward. They certainly must be repressed, both because of this culture and the nature of the men they married. But I cannot help feeling sorry for the mother. I'm sure that she loved her children and I cannot imagine her pain and fear. The poor woman has no doubt already suffered enough.

doesn't the word boy imply a certain innocents, that the Hussein "boys" did not possess?
Sorry, that struck me as wierd.

11. oh so certain 'boys' are ok to murder |
|
just as long as they're related to a 'bad' man ? Guess you chose to be born into the family you were born in. and you chose the country you were born in.
Dude, what if you opened your eyes and you happened to be an arab in an arab land? grew up to be 14 and got shot because of your family name.
We'd be all making jokes about your death !! and feeling just fine about it!!
oh but you say--that couldn't happen --I wuz born in the U S of A---I'm murikan--how could I be born as an A rab?

12. I just heard on CNN that the bodies will be refrigerated |
|
until a family member comes forth to claim them. Are these people insane? Who would dare come forward? And what about the body of the young boy? I am grateful that footage of his body hasn't appeared on the news, I just couldn't have stood it. What I have seen, without warnings of the graphic nature of what is about to come, is bad enough. When is somebody going to scream ``enough''!? I've seen more than enough, without ever intending to.:-(

Despite his background, associations, experiences, family, whatever, this was still a child. When the chips were down and he realized that all the adults in that house were dead and he was facing the might of the U.S. military all on his own, well, it's beyond description to imagine what he must have felt.;(

|
These assholes could open a museum for all the trophy's of WAR.
The WAR on Terror
They could put Muhammed Atta's hand on display (Or a hand they could call his)
The WAR at home.
pictures of the murderers Bush put to death when he was Governor. Maybe even video tape of the actual executions.
The War In Afghan
Pictures of the poppys growing and heroin being made
Iraqi freedom
actual body parts of children blown to bits by cluster bombs, plus as an addeed Feature the refrigerated corpses of the brothers GRIM in glass cases.

but they had to appear at the same time helpful. They are strange folks indeed. The faces looked like claymation. I wouldn't trust'em if I was over there.
