I've always liked the guy anyway but I really like his somewhat new aggressiveness.

What makes it so powerful is that Bob is not prone to hysterics and the Repukes know that.

When Bob gets angry people actually do listen to him.

Regardless of his wishes to be our candidate for President I think someone woould be insane to not consider him for VP.

2. He was on Fox too
Edited on Mon Jul-28-03 08:50 PM by kmargret
He held his own on Fox last night, did not stray from his message. Randi Rhodes played a Bob Graham audio clip today that I hope she will post on her archives. I sent him a few words of thanks for speaking up, and got this reply, probably a form letter, but a gracious one.

"Thank you for contacting my office with your supportive
comments. I am always mindful of the fact that I am here in the Senate to represent the people of Florida. It is gratifying to know that I have acted in accordance with the viewpoint of citizens like yourself. I am pleased to find so many citizens are concerned about our laws, our state and our country. If you would like to contact me with further comments, please visit
my website at http://graham.senate.gov."

I think he takes some personal risk, but I'm not surprised, I believe he is a great man. As I've said many times, Florida trusts Bob Graham.

Ho Ho JanMichael - nice to see you on the other side. Congrats on 1k.

3. Big Guy too
Don't get the 1000 plus, and I'm only 375. I've been offline for a couple of weeks, watching way too much Fox, trying to see the house of cards coming down.

4. Graham For VP? Yes!
I like Graham, and he has been great lately.

BUT, I find myself moving towards Dean very strongly. Dean has the pulse of the hardcore Dems. He can run as a DC outsider, and I think that is going to be a very big issue in '04 as I see an anti-inside-the-beltway race developing.

Dean & Graham - both former govs. Both questioning bush and his illegal war. Dean has the fire, and Graham has the goods on the junta due to his work on the intelligence committee! Graham will be able to force more and more bad news about the REAL story about 9/11 into the open. In fact, he's the only Dem in a position to do so. If he was the Prez nominee, the repigs would claim it was all partisan sniping. Let Graham as the VP candidate go on the attack while Dean floats above it and concentrates on the economy, health care and fiscal responsibility ("Kirk, you are a wise general. You let your second-in-command attack, while you assess your enemy." - Khan from Star Trek "The Seed").

Wouldn't you love to hear Howard Dean on the stump - "As president, my first act in office will to be to appoint VP Bob Graham as the head of a REAL, OPEN bi-partisan commission that will FINALLY get to the bottom of 9/11 . No more stonewalling, no more lame excuses, no more shifting blame, no more duck tape, no more cover ups. We'll let the chips will fall where they may. The American public deserves no less."

Quite a combo.

One thing about Graham nobody seems to mention - he had that heart surgery recently. Were he to be the Dems' Prez nominee, the repigs would pound on that "health issue" mercilessly, even though it wasn't an issue for them with Cheney.

5. Graham is taking our battle to the streets
He is the ONE who is saying that 9/11 stinks.

For that reason alone all here should be giving him support.

7. He will make a great VP.
I don't think he has the "presence" or the money to win the nomination.

8. The Republicans are really pissed at him.
Which means, of course, Graham is doing everything right. I caught a few minutes of Pigbaugh's sewage today and he just wouldn't stop oinking about Graham's audacity.

9. I surely hope
there is a place for Bob Graham on the 04 ticket, as Florida will miss him as Senator.

10. Bob Graham is the man with his finger on the central issues of 2004...
Thw War on Al-Quada and the War in Iraq. His views on the economy, civil rights, civil liberties, and the environment are mainstream to liberal. He has the right electoral base, background and demeanor to fight a protracted struggle against superior odds. Will Dems give him the chance? If we want to win, we will, but we're Democrats so winning isn't always the preferred result. Sometimes we just want to make a point.

11. Graham would be an awesome...
candidate but I don't think he'll win the nomination. He has a warmth and sincerity that is very appealing and he has a lot of experience in government. I just like the guy and he would be a good running mate.

13. Yup

Graham would be awesome. Quite frankly, I'm a bit surprised when people say Graham isn't charismatic enough. As if Kerry, Lieberman, etc. are all Mr. Personality. Everyone besides Dean is very bland and boring, but Dean is far too left and far too angry to win a general election. Graham knows how to kick Bush in the nuts without pissing off the Republican moderates and independents. Voters that any Dem will need to win. Voters that Dean will not get.

Unfortunately, Graham's been hampered by a late start. He should have started a year ago. His poor fund raising concerns me. $2 million the last quarter is simply not going to cut it and he's barely in single digits in New Hampshire and Iowa. The last poll I saw him at was 2%.

I think he'll be on the ticket. Florida's 27 electoral votes are just too important. It'll be a damn shame if he gets the V.P. nod though. He's infinitely more qualified to be president than any of the others running.

I hate style over substance in politics.

on your first post. :toast:

I agree, had Graham announced a year earlier, the race would be almost over. Now, he'll have to fight...
