zombies have a hard time biting through leather. You arm yourself or get a sharp brain-stabbin' implement, and then run to your nearest mall.

From your upper windows and shit, provided you have guns of course and an upper level. You're kind of fucked if you have no firearms in a zombie situation.

Your safe haven will eventually become your tomb. You have to keep moving. get into your car and move into sparsely populated areas. Never settle in a single location for more than a few weeks. Homes are dangerous because eventually enough zombies will gather to break down your barricade (only a few dozen needed if the barricades are primarily wood).
