Kids Just LOVE "Walter The Farting Dog" Children's Books!!!
<snip>

Dogs. They're loyal and loving. They fetch sticks and eat leftovers and stride beside their masters on morning runs. They guard sleeping households. Some of them even catch Frisbees.

Not surprisingly, those finer qualities tend to trump less likeable traits: nipping at neighbors, shredding shoes, soiling carpets.

Passing gas.

Veterinarian Robert Dann, co-director of Blum Animal Hospital in Chicago, has seen his share of gassy pooches. Their affliction, he says, is fairly common, and often stems either from an inability to expel excess air, or intestinal bacteria that "ferment carbohydrates," which in turn produces gas.

Sorry. That's more than you needed to know.

But that brings us to the popular Walter the Farting Dog series of children's books. Its stinky protagonist, Walter, a lovable and preternaturally gaseous canine, has brought dog flatulence (and as a result, flatulence in general) to the fore like never before.

1. There is just something very funny about farting
At least about reading about it. Not so funny if you are trapped in an elevator with a farting dog!

2. It seems to me this would go without saying
Kids love dogs. Kids think farts are funny. Put the two together and it's a natural.
John
Fermenting carbohydrates, huh? You learn something new every day.
