What do DU'ers think of her music? Personally, I find her more enjoyable than most of the young musicians today.
I think she has good talent and will make it longer than folks like Britney and Christina.

1. She had a GREAT pictorial in MAXIM magazine |
|
I have no idea what her music sounds like. But if it's half as good as fans of hers tell me it is, she could quite possibly be the ultimate woman on Earth.

4. it was pretty decent, hey, have you noticed Maxim isnt as creative |
|
as it used to be? I let my subscription lapse but maybe I'm being too critical.

6. MAXIM has been very critical of Bush, and that suits me |
|
Every issue for the last several months has featured a cartoon or article or two that portrays the Shrub as a complete idiot. For that alone they get my subscription money. I swear it has nothing to do with the scantily clad women on every other page.

I can't even get my head around that. How does one sink below a nadir? Did they run out of dick innuendo?

I don't subscribe to the magazine. A handful of times throughout the year I see an issue worth buying.
I'll admit that I rarely have read any of the articles.

2. I had never heard her until I saw her with the Dixie Chicks |
|
I liked her a lot and agree she makes Britney and Christina looks like fools.

Went to the same high school as my girlfriend. Her song with Carlos Santana is pretty good.

10. My reaction, from the first time I saw Michelle... |
|
1) She actually played an instrument. 2) She wrote her own songs (pretty good ones, too). 3) She seemed like a musician/songwriter, not a model trying to pose as a singer. 4) She performed songs, not dance routines with lyrics attached. 5) She seemed more interested in exposing her soul than her midriff.
I was actually a bit disappointed with the Maxim article -- it seemed like she was trying to present herself as something she's not (i.e. another "pop tart"). Besides, if she's trying to compete with Britney et. al. on looks and sexiness, she's going to lose. (Although she is not unattractive, she's not enough of a standout to get attention that way.) But is that even the arena in which she should be competing with them, given that she's one thing -- a real singer/musician/songwriter -- they can never be?

I think she's a very talented musician. Her career will have longer legs than the rest of the younger crowd.
Personally, I find her more attractive than Christina, Britney, Jessica, etc. It's a weird thing with Michelle. Sometimes she takes really awesome pictures, but other times they aren't so good.
