1. I really don't know.
Sometimes, I think I have at least 500-600 cd's and a mere handful of cassettes. But I am pretty loaded on music. THough, I will probably go out and buy "Deep Purple In Rock" soon.

iTunes?
Edited on Sat Apr-17-04 07:21 PM by Amerpie
My database says 20.1 days, 27.95 gigs.

That's kind of decadent now that I look at it...

5. 262 out of 500
I have 262 out of the Rolling Stone Top 500 albums of all time.

My iTunes database tells me that I have 7264 songs and 528 albums total. I gave my LPs away a long time ago (to my brother). The only 45s I ever had were in 6th grade Queen - We Will Rock You and KC and the Sunshine Band - Shake, Shake, Shake

9. 350+ classical vinyl LPs (came with the mountain house!)
Some had never been opened. I am in the slow process of cataloging those LPs now. I am also looking for a cartridge for the Dual 1257 turntable that I bought in the package.

Additionally, I have about 200 classical CDs and 100 some-odd rock, jazz, and "other."

So much music, so little time.

10. Vinyl rules.
600-700 LPs played on a $3,000 vinyl rig.

260 CDs - ok for background music.

MP3s suck!!

over 1100 commercial CD's

over 2000 CD's of live music from bands that allow taping and trading

450 Cassettes

750 Cassettes of live music from bands that allow taping and trading.

Over 500 vinyl records from back in the day. I had more, but several hundred were destroyed in a flood in South Texas back in the 70's.

Most of my commercial CD's were bought used or cut out, so I haven't been dropping 18 bucks for each of those. The commercial cassettes were bought retail before CD players were in cars. It's a sickness, I'm a content hoarder.

12. 8,000-9,000 CDs, almost all classical
but I was in the biz. I doubt if I paid for 5% of them.

All that - and there's probably only 400-500 that I listen to on a regular basis.

13. A lot
600 33.33 LPs
300 CDs
2000 45s
10 78s
225 mpegs (many Beatle alternate takes and boots. I must whittle this down since a good portion of these became CD buys).

About 100 45s
About 200 albums
About 40 cassettes
About 300 CDs (regular)
About 300 or 400 MP3s on numerous CDs

15. I have no idea, hundreds and hundreds
mostly classical and world, with some jazz and pop.

Back when LPs ruled, I had 210 LPs. I have since transferred them all to tape and acquired at least as many CDs.

21. Lots
Over 1,000 LP's and another 1,000 CD's. Jazz, blues, classical, rock'n'roll, punk, alternative, folk. And honorary mention for 2 dozen poetry tapes. First record purchased was 1963 Meet the Beetles (I was 5, my mom helped!). Last CD was Ani DiFranco's Evolve. Though I am not a country fan, I'm thinking of getting Johnny Cash's box set.

Moving is a bear. Between books, LP's, CD's, and tapes I'm up around 100 boxes. And, damn, my wife wants me to take the furniture too!

So, wha', you casing the joint?
