...And this is usually the part in the post where it gets more specific. But I don't have a lot more than that. Here's the deal:
I'm recently separated... :eyes: I'm going back to restaurant in about a month to wait tables again, but in the meantime I've got this time on my hands before they open for the season.
What should I do? I've got a little cash in the bank which I'd just as soon not spend much of, but I've got a reliable vehicle and someone to watch the dogs if I want to go for a long drive somewhere. I'm smack in the middle of the country in SW Colorado.
Is there somewhere I should go? Something I should see? Or should I start a project at home? Learn a new language? Build a porch? Tar the roof? Or just sit around and run up the phone bill?
I'm wide open, DU! :D

1. Work for somebody's campaign. |
|
Find some local and state Democrats who need volunteers. Give the Kerry campaign a hand.
Write letters to the editor.
Come to Washington with us next weekend for the March to Save Women's Lives.

2. Or he can try to get that **** Marilyn Musgrave out of office |
|
If he lives in her district, anyways that's what I would do if I were to do something political. He could go camping or that's lots of places to visit on I-50 such as Bents Old Fort National Historic Site, Koshare Indian Museum, Kit Carson museum, Big Timbers Museum, I can't think of them all but there are alot of interesting places to see in Southern Colorado. My .02.

...but the country mouse in me is a little afraid of the traffic! :)
My LTTE schedule is already on track, and I am already doing stuff for Salazar out here.

Once you get there.... park the car and take the train.
I live in Hampton Roads (Norfolk to be exact).... that is near Va. Beach..... This area is urban, but not too much so. Great Beaches..... Historic sites, museums, Navy guys and girls.... lots of them!

4. If you don't want to spend your savings, stay home. |
|
But don't just sit around -- do something constructive.
You are newly separated? That's difficult. I hope it is amicable. Make it easy on yourself and keep yourself busy. It gets better with time.
Good luck.

5. I think you should go on a DU tour of the country |
|
Arrange a trip during which you meet up/stay with DUers on a rambling trip around the states. Doesn't that sound like fun?!?! After all, who would pass on the opportunity to meet a dingbat in person? That's what I would do anyway.
In the meantime, You'll get through this.

9. Sorry Robb, that's tough for sure... |
|
Have been there and done that. No T-shirts for this one. I subscribe to the old maxim: when the going gets tough, the tough go fishing! If you don't fish, find something else soothing and quiet to occupy your time. The last thing youneed right now is hustle and bustle. Good luck:pals:

BTW...this is the BEST time of the year to drive through the Arizona desert with the desert blossoms in bloom on the saguaros...a drive through the springtime desert when one has a troubled soul can be very healing too...and on the way you can stop off in Phoenix and meet some DU'ers too!

24. I think that you might be able to combine most of the ideals |
|
Get involved and active going from one event to the next across the country. While you are going bounce from on DUer to the next, and perhaps at some point find a nice, cute, and far to young DUer you can, yada, yada, better then not getting laid.
