My partner that I never had and will never have decided to go off and do something else. Yet again, without me!
:wow:
Be lucky you've got someone. The downsides of lonliness far exceed the downsides to being together.

1. Aloneness affects everyone differently |
|
I've been out of a 10-year marriage for almost six years. It was great for most of the time, but I recognize that I could never share a household with my ex-wife again. I miss the companionship but I don't miss the communication problems, the co-dependence, the way our own weaknesses fed on each other.
I had a steady girlfriend for almost three years. That ended almost exactly one year ago. I don't miss her psychotic behavior. I miss the pet cat who died a month later a lot more than I miss the woman.
Some people aren't cut out to live alone, some thrive on it, most of us are somewhere in between.
Best of luck to you, HT. I hope you find some peace and happiness soon.

2. For some reasons, posts like this always make me feel guilty.... |
|
Guilty at my good luck for having found the "right one" (at age 35)and managed to keep him, happily, for a bunch of years. I wish merely mouthing a cliche would help, but I know from past experience that cliches never made me feel better when I was alone.
My other half's gone for the weekend, caring for his mom, and I'm literally counting the minutes till he returns this afternoon. I don't like to sleep alone anymore (does 2 dogs count as alone?).
All I can do is wish you the best. Its tough enough to make it through life with a partner; it would be much harder to go it alone.
Peace...

My hand just slipped and I inadvertantly put you on ignore. I had never hit that icon before. It was a mistake and given your mood today I didn't want you to misconstrue it and take it personally. I'll try to figure out how to correct it. I always enjoy your posts. Hope you meet someone wondrous at the bookstore.

you'll see "Ignore List", click to access there'll be an option for removing Hypno from your ignore list, just check the box next to his name and 'remove' button.

5. i can't say i agree with you, |
|
being with someone for the sake of not being alone is not healthy either, and really doesn't help to take away those 'alone' feelings.
but that's just me
you're obviously hurting, i'm sorry. don't lose heart.

If it helps at all, I've 'been there and done that' myself once.
I even wrote a poem about it, and it seemed to help to put it into words:
i miss you
i miss you as i also miss the happiness i once knew i long each and every day for the old you the nice boy the one i would have grown to love i miss your touch like rain on a new bud i miss your voice the one that spoke to me by choice i thought i needed you but now i'm learning to do without everythings a deeper shade of blue no one seems to hear me shout i miss you i need you
