I'm eating Claritin like M & M's....
my allergies are kicking my bootie this spring. I am taking 2 24-hour Claritins a day, just so I can sleep at night and function during the day time.

I am already getting tired of the constant headache and the bouts of sneezes that come on despite the meds.

Anybody else suffering as well?

2. Ha, ha, ha...my red Jeep
is now a sickly shade of yellow and green. My windshield wipers leave a paste of pollen first thing in the morning.

3. Claritin's effective wears down over time -- get some Allegra
My allergies kick my ass EVERY spring (pollen) and fall (ragweed) to the point that I cannot function outside -- burning eyes, constant sneezing, itchy nose. I used to take Claritin, but I found that it's effectiveness wore off over time.

My wife gets a prescription for Allegra, and that works much better for me. All I need is to take one ever few days, as symptoms begin to "accumulate", in order to break up my allergy cycle.

11. I take allegra
and I'm miserable as hell.

Allegra and NasalCrom.

I feel like I'm in a dream world, and my right ear is clogged.

Feels like I'm on an airplane, trying to get it to pop.

wonder if there's fluid in there?

5. Sneezy here
I think it's not the plants' fault, however, I think they are just pushing around the polution. Allergies seem more severe in areas where there is air polution.

6. Allergies are environmental
If you take medication yet continue to be exposed, you will still go through the exposure, adaptation, exhaustion cycle. When exhausted the symptoms become the worst.

Therefore, you must isolate yourself from the allergens as much as possible to allow the body a place of rest. Air conditioning is often beneficial, especially when filters are clean. Electronic air cleaners work too. It may be necessary to completely remove as much carpets and fabrics from the home as possible. Curtains and rugs which collect allergens should be cleaned and maybe discarded. Hard surfaced floors easily cleaned are best. Take off shoes when you come into the home. Keep pets outside. Our pets have three places to live and play. Outside in the yard, outside in the enclosed porch, and sleep in the garage. They are perfectly happy with it.

Exercise is a good way to fight allergies also as it strenthens the general stress response and allows longer exposures to some levels before the exhaustion phase of discomfort sets in.

I'm not a doctor, I'll learned this with a doctor's advice while trying to cope with a serious allergy problem that both my daughter and I have.

9. the 24 claritin did absolutely NOTHING
for me. luckily tylenol allergy/sinus does. but instead of making me drowsy, it is like anphetamines. and since they recalled triaminicin, i had to search for something so i could sleep. but on the briight side, i live in a time where there are things to help a bit.
